Would like to think this means we are close to bringing someone else in. Piggott needs games to improve. Will be one to watch still I think
  • Good luck to the Pig.

I hope he manages to get a decent attacking team which give him plenty of opportunities to show what he can do. When I have seen him he looks like he has a great touch for a big fella but maybe still needs to grow into his body a bit.

If he could get a season of regular football under his belt at a reasonable level he could turn into a gem.

Hopefully he gets L1 but I think it maybe L2.

He's not getting anywhere near the squad at the moment so probably a good move for him.

Are Newport paying his toll into Wales?
  • Good to see our young players moving abroad to get experience.

Good luck Joe, prove the doubters wrong.

Surely we must be going to sign another striker, unless Peeters thinks that Moussa can fill the gap.

L2 should be a good level for him at this stage so lets hope he gets a run in the team and a few goals.

Tough to get up and running on these shorter loans I feel, is this the maximum length we could loan him for at this stage of the season? Cant see him getting into our first team until next year so seems strange he'll be back before December.

Either way will be following his progress, good luck Joe.
  • Is it really bad that I was hoping to see Simon Church's name on that link?

At least he'll have a friendly face there too, in Kevin Feely. Good luck Joe.

Good luck to him. Hopefully he'll get a decent amount of game time and bag a few goals. I'm convinced he can push on, so this move might help him do just that.

I hope Joe can emulate Michael Smith when he went out on various loans.

Have to say I like what PEeters said there. HE does need to understand what he is.

He is a finisher but he is not a target man and neither is he a speed merchant. He has decent link-up play but isn't yet strong enough.

For me the UK based striker requires pace or strength as a minimum - it's more about athletes than technique. Those that have both attributes are sought after (Igor) whereas Joe hasn't yet grown into a role. This is a big loan for him as I suspect the end of the season will see a aprting of the ways unless something spectacular happens in Newport
  • Good move for Joe. Hope the loan move goes well and he comes back a more confident player.

Just expressing my opinion here but I don't think he's up to it. I've read of the reports he had whilst on loan at Gillingham, and from what (albeit little) I've seen of him, just looks a little awkward. I understand he is young and still has time to grow etc, but can't see him making an impact at this level.

Would be happy to be proved wrong.

Hope he gets a good run in the side, gets goals along with boosted confidence and can show what hes all about.

    Feed the pig.

Which precious white knights flagged this? Not very amusing, but if that's flagging criteria than a lot more should be.

I think Kevin might be a bit touchy about that.

Even after his excellent performance at Brighton?

Newport? Let's hope he doesn't have to live there.

I think this is spot on, unfortunately. He was terrific at U21 level and then really impressed on his debut against Oxford last August, but he simply hasn't kicked on for some reason. He's twenty one in November and older than Adebayo Azeez, for example, so we must think he has more about him than Azeez, but this is a make or break opportunity for him.

    Really hope he comes good.
