I hope he manages to get a decent attacking team which give him plenty of opportunities to show what he can do. When I have seen him he looks like he has a great touch for a big fella but maybe still needs to grow into his body a bit.
If he could get a season of regular football under his belt at a reasonable level he could turn into a gem.
L2 should be a good level for him at this stage so lets hope he gets a run in the team and a few goals.
Tough to get up and running on these shorter loans I feel, is this the maximum length we could loan him for at this stage of the season? Cant see him getting into our first team until next year so seems strange he'll be back before December.
Either way will be following his progress, good luck Joe.
Good luck to him. Hopefully he'll get a decent amount of game time and bag a few goals. I'm convinced he can push on, so this move might help him do just that.
Have to say I like what PEeters said there. HE does need to understand what he is.
He is a finisher but he is not a target man and neither is he a speed merchant. He has decent link-up play but isn't yet strong enough.
For me the UK based striker requires pace or strength as a minimum - it's more about athletes than technique. Those that have both attributes are sought after (Igor) whereas Joe hasn't yet grown into a role. This is a big loan for him as I suspect the end of the season will see a aprting of the ways unless something spectacular happens in Newport

Just expressing my opinion here but I don't think he's up to it. I've read of the reports he had whilst on loan at Gillingham, and from what (albeit little) I've seen of him, just looks a little awkward. I understand he is young and still has time to grow etc, but can't see him making an impact at this level.

Would be happy to be proved wrong.
doesn't he have a couple of years left on his contract?

I think this is spot on, unfortunately. He was terrific at U21 level and then really impressed on his debut against Oxford last August, but he simply hasn't kicked on for some reason. He's twenty one in November and older than Adebayo Azeez, for example, so we must think he has more about him than Azeez, but this is a make or break opportunity for him.

Hopefully he gets L1 but I think it maybe L2.
Good luck Joe, prove the doubters wrong.
