Shows how shit things have been when we (myself included) are getting excited about some grass and some plastic seats.

In all fairness I've always been excited about grass

Don't you think we could afford a bigger lawnmower than that B&Q special?

It would be like painting the Forth Bridge with that one. The grass is growing quicker than you could cut it.

    I want some close-up pics

It looks nice from a distance but I want to see if it really is like a bowling green when you get up close and personal to it

Its just taking a little while longer for the tartan blanket design to be made.

Nope, not as important as us North Uppers now that all the hooligans have gone to A block!

Why should we do up something for the benefit of away fans ?
Personally, the improvement i'd like is the roof taken off the Jimmy Seed stand - let them get soaked.

With the banter between the away fans and the hardcore Charlton fans in East Stand Block A, there'll be more noise than ever down that end of the ground!

When we play Birmingham, think how many ASBO's will be in one end of the ground. Love it.
  • Any new pictures of the Valley pitch? And the Charlton emblems on the astroturf borders?
  • how about some james bond aston martin db6 style ejector seats for the jimmy seed?

Apparently there has been some kind of weevil / grub problem and things aren't so great - lot of work going on to recover

Sod the World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, the cricket, the Tour de France - the photos just remind me I want to come home. Roll on the Glorious 12th.

I popped up to the ground this afternoon to get a shirt and some tickets and went for a general snoop about. The big gates in the SW corner were open so I had a quick look around and had a nice chat with some of the ground staff. I can honestly say it's been a very long time since I saw the place looking that good. If they can't play some decent football on that surface then they want shooting. The staff all said what a difference RD has made. Proper investment with proper equipment to do a proper job. It just needs the players to do their bit now. Having listened to the Peterborough game last night it would seem that a lack of fire power is still a cause for concern. At least we'll have decent surroundings to look half decent in.

Won't be long now, as soon as the hardly used ones behind 'A' block have expired they'll be ordering a new vandal proof batch for the whole stand :-0
