Am sorry but you can see a white MARK on that pitch...
(Follow the dark line down from the "L" part of the Valley and then along from the bloke mowing the grass)... Am sorry but someone needs to answer for that... RD OUT its a fecking disgrace!!!!!
The Valley looks so beautiful. Time to add some new photos to the screensaver on my computer!
Earlier this year we had a long thread about the prospect of moving away from The Valley to a new stadium (in the Peninsula?). Although I've never been to The Valley, it always has a very special place in my heart - even used photos of The Valley as my computer wallpaper a lot of times - and I'd be really sad if we did move one day. There have been many occasions when I tell someone here in China that I'm a Charlton fan, their first reaction is 'Charlton? Their home ground is called The Valley isn't it?' So basically it's part of what Charlton is, what we're known for. Also the exile years and people's effort to get back to The Valley make it much more special than any other club's ground.
It's the wrong thread to talk about all this and what I said above is obviously an understatement of how much The Valley means to all Addicks fans. Seeing the latest photos on here I'm just really pleased the pitch gets revamped and the whole stadium starts to look beautiful again. (Kudos to RD.) I think the same goes for Red Red Robin - like someone's already said on that thread, these are the key componets of the identity of our beloved club and hopefully RD and co know that as well.

To be fair Airman Brown did tell us this would happen..
our stadium would be perfect with a done up jimmy seed stand and some rail standing seats
Why should we do up something for the benefit of away fans ? Personally, the improvement i'd like is the roof taken off the Jimmy Seed stand - let them get soaked.

and it would take away any noise they would make. Great Idea
With the banter between the away fans and the hardcore Charlton fans in East Stand Block A, there'll be more noise than ever down that end of the ground!

When we play Birmingham, think how many ASBO's will be in one end of the ground. Love it.
I popped up to the ground this afternoon to get a shirt and some tickets and went for a general snoop about. The big gates in the SW corner were open so I had a quick look around and had a nice chat with some of the ground staff. I can honestly say it's been a very long time since I saw the place looking that good. If they can't play some decent football on that surface then they want shooting. The staff all said what a difference RD has made. Proper investment with proper equipment to do a proper job. It just needs the players to do their bit now. Having listened to the Peterborough game last night it would seem that a lack of fire power is still a cause for concern. At least we'll have decent surroundings to look half decent in.

It would be like painting the Forth Bridge with that one. The grass is growing quicker than you could cut it.
It looks nice from a distance but I want to see if it really is like a bowling green when you get up close and personal to it
