    Bit of insight from my West Ham ST holding mate:

    Maiga has potential, needs a run in a team and someone to work out the best way to play him.

    I think Vaz Te can still cut it in the prem, maybe as a sub. Would be a great signing for you.

    No players will be coming in from West Ham, it'll either fall through or they won't want to step down to the championship, either way no West Ham player will walk through the doors at SE7

    Agree, but wages would be a big problem.

    Even as a younger player at Wet Spam (he's 25) he would have probably been on a pretty decent wage - my guess would be in the 15-20K per week range.

    We'd be lucky to give him half of that which is why he'll probably pitch up at a Championship team that have Parachute Payments on board....

    Seeing a few saying no to Maiga, but he's got to have something about him? Looks like West Ham paid £4.7m for him but he's not actually played many games for them. At QPR he only started twice. Might just be a player that needs a run of games and a manager/team that can help get the best out of him.

    If he hadn't played for West Ham and QPR wouldn't we be getting excited at the thought of a player like this joining us...

    Good point Scoham.

    My negativity was because of his performance for QPR against us especially when he did not take advantage of the mix up between Dervite and Thuram. Lets see what he is like if he joins us.

    Yet because most of us were there for Maiga's miss for Queens Park Rangers against Thuram we're all thinking Meh!!

    I dont think there is anyone here that would say no to Torres, if we did not have to pay his wages, and he has missed some great chances to,

    I am not saying for one second Maiga is as good as Torres, but all I am saying is even top players miss clear opportunities,

    So if it was Maiga I would say welcome aboard and not right him off, he would need to fans to get behind him and if people right him off from the beginning it could damage him, so all I am saying is if it is him, then we need to forget that one chance he missed and sing his name as loud as we can.

    Not sure about Maiga. One good season at Sochaux and then started throwing his toys out of his pram, refused to play. At every other club he hasn't exactly been prolific.
