A player on a season long loan from West Ham United ?

My West Ham supporting mate (yeah I know) said he wasn't very good last season and is well behind Downing. I still think it's unlikely and would be a great loan signing but I don't think he is that well thought of there.ForeverAddickted said:Feck off it being Matt Jarvis... He was one of their best crossers for them last season, surely they need him with Andy Carroll up front
Maiga seems more likely considering he was shipped off to QPR last season though.

Would be quite pleased if we got Vaz Te he is a good goal scorer at this level!3

Can't see it being Cole or Jarvis.
We need a Keeper so can see it being Henderson. Prefer Vaz Te to Maiga after his QPR exploits. I also always liked Matt Taylor. Could Robert Lee's son Elliot be an option?
Maybe there could be 2 players. There would need to be a good incentive to poaching Diego and not going to tribunal.0 -
Ive heard from a very good source its Daniel Potts0
-
I heard a rumour that the loan player will be "undisclosed".

Bet it's no one and this thread will end up with over a 1000 comments1

Jarvis *should* still have more than enough quality to stand out in the Championship and we could really do with a winger who can deliver assists, but I don't know how likely he is to be available on loan - didn't they pay a pretty big fee for him a year ago?
Vaz Te, good player but do we need another nippy, smallish striker? Would have to ship a few out on loan/sell em to make room.
Cole, there's a good player in there but he is 30+ now and if it hasn't come consistently to the surface yet it never will.
Know nothing about Potts.
This rumour is probably all cobblers and we won't get anyone.0 -
You'd need to know the addons and the sell on clause to make any sense of the upfront fee. What's for sure is that Poyet didn't give us the strongest bargaining chip.1

It will be a youngster who's on the verge of the first team squad IMO0

Bearing in mind that I know feck all and couldn't name more than a couple of current players at the Boleyn, a 'keeper with experience of the Prem/Champs sounds like a decent shout.
Most on here feel we need a "more mature" stopper in the squad to complement Nick Pope next season so maybe the Irons' 3rd string guy could be the answer ?
Not sure though how seriously_red, Prague, Airman etc would view the Poyet deal should this rumour of a middling six figure fee plus a 'keeper be confirmed.0 -
When your contact told you that Suarez was a see you next Tuesday, that's not what he meant.AddickUpNorth said:Macronate said:these agreements with other teams are great.

I was going to suggest Jordan Spence (right back) but see that they released him, this summer.Redhenry said:It will be a youngster who's on the verge of the first team squad IMO
If he is still a free agent, we could do worse than give him a trial, especially if Solly is still struggling to play week-in, week-out.0 -
I'd imagine it will either be Stephen Henderson, Vaz Te, Maiga or Jordan Spence.0

In paper today it says Maiga and Alou Diarra have been left out of their pre season training camp to France, Maiga scored three goals in 31 games since his £4.7million move in 2012. Diarra has started just two games since joining two years ago.0

Maiga is worse than Church0

There is nothing official anywhere to suggest we will get a WHU player0

Pretty sure Jordan Spence has left West Ham .Like others I liked him and wouldn't mind us going for him.
Diarra has also been released. I suspect Poyet's arrival might have pushed him out of the squad.

Don't think it is remotely accurate Fanny. And as I said above, the key thing would be the sell on, especially if Poyet is half as good as he and his Dad think he is. We were in a corner, and the sell on was the only likely way to get some decent return, one day.
