Watched this the other night...could have been great but lost its way about mid way through and rapidly went down hill...Id give it a 5/10 distinctly average...and normally I agree with 99% of your reviews :-)
Enders Game has just been released here...didnt knw if I wanted to see it or not to be frank, but I generally like SciFi films and thought, what the hell... Was an interesting film, plenty of action and after a while I tended to forget it was kids playing the major roles, which I think was my main issue before entering. I havent read the books but did like the plot, and it wasnt until the fairly hasty ending that it got a little corny and the kids became kids again....overall I enjoyed it for the filming and cgi as much as anything...the lead kid was pretty good, Harrison played Harrison which was no surprise really so Im going to say 6.5/10
One of the best directors around ( Paul Greengrass) pairs up with one of the best actors ( Tom Hanks )and outcome is as good as you could expect. It's a long time since is saw a film as gripping as this. The tension in the last half hour is incredible. Definitely Oscar material.

Went to see the latest instalment of Lord Of the Rings, a big improvement on the last one , back to its best, and Legoless is back!
9 out of 10 from me.
The events in the Hobbit, whilst related to what happens later in the LOTR trilogy, take place decades before, and so - although they are part of the Middle Earth mythology, are not part of the LOTR.

This is a bit of an odd one. It's the story of how two women cope with grief but in very different ways. This film will appeal to women more than men but never the less it's quite interesting.
The Place Beyond The Pines. Stylish and atmospheric with a great soundtrack but just couldn't buy into the story in the second half of the film. I kept thinking that TJ was closer to Ryans character and Jason to Bradley Coopers and some of the characters didn't seem to age much compared to others and that's where I started to lose interest in what was happening on the screen. The biggest problem I had with it was the casting of Ryan Gosling, Ben Mendelsohn and Ray Liotta who were typecast to similar roles in other recent films whereas Bradley Cooper was more believable in his role.
Anchorman 2 is essentially the first film, but more. If you liked the first film, then you'll love the second. If you disliked/were ambivalent about the first, nothing in this one will change your mind in the slightest. I personally thought it was hilarious, but Ferrell is definitely a pretty marmite actor.
Blue Is The Warmest Colour - an intense love story but I feel that rather too much has been made of this film and the sex within it. The narrative also didn't quite hang together in one or two important places. 7/10
I watched a preview screening of Out of the furnace on Thursday and loved it. Rammed packed full of stars this film is a slow burning revenge thriller that has awards written all over it. I would be surprised if Woody Harrelson doesn't pick up a nomination or two as he is outstanding. This is released in the UK in January.

I also don’t think they could’ve made that film with anyone other than Tom Hanks. He carried it.
An interesting film about Ai Weiwei , a Chinese artist who is brave enough to challenge the Chinese government.

It might not be too articulate but the best way i can describe Gravity is that it's an audio and visual mind fuck.

7.5/10
Sets it all up nicely for the finale but ridiculous that release has now been moved from next July to next December.
I enjoyed it and that's what matters, 7.5/10.
