I took the wife to see American Hustle last night. What a complete pile of tosh!! The plunging neckline of Amy Adams was the only thing that held my interest.

Saw it this afternoon. One of the best films I have ever seen. Superb acting, writing, dialogue, editing. Right up there with Goodfellas, Sting, Godfather 1.
Lone Survivor 4.5/5. I'm a big fan of Peter Berg's Friday Night Lights (which is IMO one of the most underrated TV shows).Lone Survivor very well lived up to my expectations.Brutal, intense but at the same time very touching.Highly recommended.
Enjoyable romp that looks fantastic on the big screen . The second act lets it down a little when the far fetched stuff isn't in his imagination but the ending makes up for it.
Saw Anchorman 2 just before Christmas. Loved the first one and this one was as good. My kind of humour.
On Saturday watched The Hobbit 2 on the IMAX 3D screen at Bluewater. The film was ok but the effects were stunning. At times it was so real felt like looking through a window at the unfolding events. Worth paying the extra money.
Secret Life of Walter Mitty was last night's film...depsite some bad reviews I thoroughly enjoyed it and came out with a smile on my face...another very good film 8/10. I enjoyed Sean Penn's cameo, he finally fits his craggy looks. I want to try and catch American Hustle before it ends its stint here...its already been relegated to late evening showings.
An extremely difficult watch but without doubt an Academy award contender. Chiwetel Ejiofor's performance is the best i have seen for a long while and he deserves all the plaudits. Michael Fassbender is superb also.
Saw American Hustle, really, really good film. The story was interesting and very well developed but I think what made it stand out was the acting, the 4 main characters all played their part perfectly special mention to Bradley Cooper who made me realise he's a far better actor than what I gave him credit for, and Jennifer Lawrence who was also fantastic, but i may be swayed by the fact that I'd give my left nut just to touch her for a split second with the right one.
The ones on my "to see" list are 12 Years A Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Great Beauty and The Act Of Killing.
Going to see 12 years today, great beauty very good. Difficult to say what I think about Act of killing. Documentary about Indonesians recreating the massacres, thought provoking if not entertaining.
If anybody gets the chance, go and see The Square - we only have limited screens due to late acquisition and a Netflix premiere soon, but it is a fantastic documentary.. Genuine 4* and 5* reviewed movie and shortlisted for an Oscar. I can't normally plug many of our movies as they are not brilliant, but this is truly breathtaking....
Just watched this with the Mrs. Both thought it was good but by no means blown away. Few hard to watch scenes but is only a 15 do not overly bad. Thought Django was better.
Captain Phillips
Fantastic - was gripped from the word go till the last second. Hanks at his best.
Hunger games
Better than the first one IMO - loved it. Didnt even realise it was based on a book till after.
Went to see Wolf of Wall Street last night. Liked it a lot. Very funny. Very manic. Lots of swearing, Lots of nude bodies and depravity. Violence level was low which I like. The subject matter and the depravity of it all meant that it had to be a comedy just so that viewers don't take it all too seriously. And it worked. Leanardo Dicaprio was immense.
I really struggled with this film. I loved the characters , but the story did absolutely nothing for me. I was left scratching my head as to what had happened and i thought it was way too convoluted.

Based on a true story of a prisoner of war, with good performances from Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
All in all, worth seeing.

Easy to see why it is being tipped for the Oscars.

Gotta agree with 8/10
I've seen it described as 'Goodfellas remade as a black comedy'. Can't wait!
