If anyone knows of any £35ers going, let me know please

My Dad took me to my first England game in July 1966 v Uruguay, nervy 0-0 first match in the group stages, the rest as they say is history. Enjoy and hope it's a game to remember for the right reasons and we get the win we crave for :0)fog horn said:I'm going tomorrow with my boy for his first England game. I haven't been to a England game for years but I'm really looking forward to this one.
Edit: Just to make Mike feel better I think the tickets cost 3s 6d which is 17.5p (or maybe it was 7s 6d) 37.5p in today's money. A month's wages would have been about £35 for a youngster.0 -
My first England game was just after Diana died. I was 7 and held a candle for the minutes silence. Me and me dad now say what the F was that all about.0

Yeah mate, with the boy. Looking forward to it, feeling fairly confident at the moment.
We go in the family section, it's good value. Managed to get front row of the upper tier for the last four games, great view.
My first game was against Bulgaria in 1979...34 years of hurt.0 -
My first England game was called off. V Bulgaria 83 I think, had to go again next night when it was replayed.0
-
Swerve we are in the family bit. I will look out for you. But you will probably hear me before you see me. Lol0

Anyway my first game was England v Ireland and I cheered both goals. When I asked my then current boss who I had gone to the game with what a Fenian was (I kept hearing the word) he said it was probably best if I got my dad to explain. God I was naive.

My first game was the 3-0 win over Czechoslovakia at Wembley in October 1974. This was the ill fated Don Revie's first game as manager and was a qualifying game for the 1976 European Championship to be held in Yugoslavia. It was a fairly straightforward win with goals from Colin Bell (2) & Mick Channon. I remember Keegan playing up front with Channon, Ray Clemence in goal, Norman Hunter & Dave Watson playing at the back + Emlyn Hughes captaining the side.
Somewhat sad that eventually England would fail to even qualify while Czechoslovakia would go on to win the competition, beating West Germany on penalties in the final.
As a sign of how long ago this was, all the countries mentioned in this post, apart from England, actually no longer exist!!0 -

I was at this game but very pissed . You could walk around the ground then without going outside and at half time we did that and sat opposite to where we were in the 1st half . When the 2nd half kicked off we were saying ' Why have nt they changed ends ' .... divs reallyadamtheaddick said:First was against japan cant remember the name of the tournament but brazil were in it to must have been 95/96ish.

My first game was in the fifties against Russia, when the onrushing Nat Lofthouse frightened their Goalkeeper so much that he let the ball roll through his legs into the net.0
