I heard from someone from York that they get more tourists than London, surely not?

Thankfully most of us realise what an asset the Royal Family is for this country and don't want a republic like BFR.

54% of all GB tourism income is generated in London (2011)

Rest of England 33% (incl Yorkshire 2%)
    Scotland 8%
    Wales 2%
    NI 1%

(Rounding errors before anyone gets smart)

Genuine question - while I think we all accept that the current monarch has done a great job - would those of you who are monarchists be more or less inclined to support Prince Charles as successor?

And a scary thought - the royal baby - assuming that William lives to a rip old age - I wonder how many of us will be around when he becomes king?

I don't think I've seen you offer your congratulations anywhere BFR.

As Shag said, why don't you give yourself a day off.
  • I would support Charlie he does great things , yes he has made mistakes very publicly but he has shown an amount of normal humility and that he is a normal person who makes mistakes

I hope he does become king and allows his son to live his life as prince before becoming king

Brilliant, only 2% for the whole county, the same as the Wales! Cheers.

Interesting how many visit the palaces in Paris. I do think he has a point but as pointed out, if only 0.25%...

With the length of time between birth and announcement of name, I expect the royal baby to be sponsored by William Hill or Paddy Power, given the amount of bets they must've taken.

Queen visits and then tells them what to call him. Poor kid with another generic/boring royal/national name.

Thought they may have been the couple to break 'tradition'

    Ah well, welcome Prince George.

  • Oh god. Here we go again. Pleased for them as a couple and wish them nothing but the best but we are now going to have hourly updates on her for the next six months.
