    The coverage has been poor. Last night on BBC the presenter was live from in front of Buckingham Palace so the crowd and building right behind her.

    The running order of news items was:

    The Royal baby
    This new child pornography law thing
    A feature on the Pope

    All with the Palace behind her - classic.

    I accept it is a news event but how much can you say about a baby being born? I think I have heard everything possibe except the one thing I wanted to hear - Why aren't we getting the day off?

    Most of the world is interested in our Royal Family, that makes me proud to be British.

    In how many other countries would the birth of a baby attract the interest that is being shown by this birth?

    "Most of the world" is OTT, there is interest in the Anglosphere and parts of Europe, but very little in most of Asia, Africa, Latin America.

    I was in China for the Royal Wedding and there was precisely zero interest.

    Britain's biggest global export is the Premier League, now that DOES have true global interest.
