From when I started going regularly away 20 years ago, Wendy has been a constant either through the supporters club or with the club. She knows what our club, and more importantly our fans are all about, and that will be extremely difficult to replace. Above everything else, she is a 'do-er'.

Good luck Wendy, and thanks for.your efforts.

My daughter used to be a junior red and when it was her 16th birthday Wendy told me send a card to the club and she got all the players to sign it including Jorge Costa ,I wonder if there are people like that still left at Charlton who make all supporters feel that they matter to the club.

Did she jump, or was she pushed?

    Pushed into jumping.

Why not just thank her for her efforts, rather than have yet another dig. Sad.

Thinly veiled attack on the club under the guise of thanking Wendy. That's why.

    Thanks Wendy.

    Certain degree of irony there.

Great work, and thank you Wendy.

In terms of not thanking and having a dig yourself. But that's neither here or there on this thread. Wendy has been a fantastic servant to the club, and continues to be to Valley Gold and that's (ultimately) why AB started the thread (I'd hope having been her boss for donkeys).

I've never met the woman. I have no idea what she does/did or whether she was any good. What am I supposed to be thanking her for and why - because the thought police on here think I should? If that's ironic in your mind then so be it.

Just thought it was in poor taste using this thread for yet another dig at the club. I of course realise that I am also now detracting from the original sentiments so will shut up.

There is a piece in the update pages of today's programme noting that Wendy is leaving but will continue in her role as a promoter of Charlton Club (Valley Gold)

The programme say "the club wishes her all the best for the future"
  • Nice touch from the club and the least I would expect for a loyal employee who didn't slag of her employer on a fans forum...

Nah, that can't be right. Everything at the club is wrong.

Such as Peter Varney and Steve Kavanagh, perhaps?

Directors aren't exactly in the same ball park as "ordinary" employees.

Anyway, shouldn't you be pleased she is getting some recognition? Not that that fits in with your agenda, of course.

"It would be nice to think that our football club will pay tribute to her on the website or in next Saturday's programme, instead of airbrushing her out of the picture in the way they have Peter Varney, Steve Kavanagh and myself."

    No airbrushing it would seem.

Yes because they are more significant and not to acknowledge properly the departure of someone who has served the club as long and well as both Varney and Kavanagh would be telling to anyone who didn't have their head up their arse.

Of course Matt Wright would acknowledge all recent departures left to himself and I knew they would be on the backfoot with Wendy because of this thread. That was the plan.

Ah, so the fact that the club are acknowleging the departure and thanking the person for their service is all down to you then. I see.

Clearly your arrogance still knows no bounds.
