  • re:1965 - and very good they were too... not sure about the support though... 40 odd minutes of my life I'll never get back!!
Red Mist - Used that GMAIL address for Wednesday, and got some very confused response! ;o) No worries, will pay on the door, looking forward to it :o)

I had a wasted trip to Chesterfield the day they played Brixton...in both meanings of the word...i wish i'd bought a ticket for the gig :(

As far as the support groups went i would have like to have seen Red Fang who do some good videos for their tunes but i'm going to see them and Black Tusk in April a few days before Meshuggah...but as for Dillinger Esc Plan i just don't get them.

    Led Zep at the bbc.......
Heard this years ago, great session from a great band,
John Peel on a saturday afternoon, then used to go down to the second half of the Valley when the gates were open.
Soon I would turn my back on the Valley, and plunge into the world of art college, live bands, and parties......
People got pissed off with zep because of there use of blues songs, I just rejoiced in the music, and this stuff being played on the radio.
Personally speaking I think John Peel had a lot to answer for, the best presenter on british radio.........

    God this brought memories......
Honeycombs, a sort of cross beetween the Dave Clark 5 and the Tornadoes, remember telstar, probably the first pop video.....
Karen Carpenter used to play drums........Interesting technique that she uses at the end, Ginger Baker had a similar technique, with a double foot roll, which he did at the end of 'white room', but using the crash cymbals as well.....
very, evocative sound for a pop group. The Quo's first single had a similar sound......'pictures'

    a haw, haw, haw.
Well, i hear it's fine if you got the time
and the ten to get yourself in.
    a hmm, hmm.
and i hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
