Orient selling 22k pretty much confirms what absolutely everyone thought - which is that they're going to get nowhere near selling their full allocation.

So surely now we can get more than the extra 1,400.

Fuck me, are people really arguing about transaction fees when they're supposedly  desperate for tickets.  I despair at times.

    Sunday needs to hurry up!!!
    No-one's arguing about transaction fees!

There is a simple disagreement about what price a "face value" ticket should be sold on as. Some people think face value is the value printed on the face of the ticket; others are happy that it includes a fee.

Now now, let's not be too hasty here.

I've asked AI to chime in on this to get a different perspective.

  • Eventual allocation - would you back overs or unders?

    Over 42,000.5 - 10/11
    Under 42,000.5 - 10/11

Yesterday AI and twins, today face value definitions - I wonder what tomorrow will hold?
A questionable social media rumour about one of our good players being seen on crutches, and several pages of panic, debate and arguments.

Can't be the police mate, if it was they'd be recklessly pushing over unarmed teenagers.

Wasn’t the AI and twins I was hoping it would be either.

@Braziliance. The AI reply sounds exactly like you!

Do you use speech-to-text translation for your posts?

As an example of how the Wembley operation is creaking:

I’m doing the hospitality thing. There’s a thread for discussing the pros cons and mores of that. But given the prices, you expect they’ll make sure it works smoothly, as its a small self-contained part of the total sales op.

I applied on the web form on Saturday.

I get an email asking me to fill in a load of details, so that they can decide whether I will be “successful in my application”. WTF? And by the way  i had already given nearly all the details they asked for in the webform. I reply instantly, with a few assertive sentences as a preface (Fllying in from abroad, x  years old, recovering from foot op., customer in 2019 (which a good company would have on its database, no?) and need to know asap).

That may have pressed a button as I got confirmation and invoice later Sunday. However look at the thread. Many people who applied before me such as @Solidgone, never even got a response.

Anyway I paid straight away by bank transfer (from HSBC UK) attaching the confirmation. I checked my bank account, mit had gone through. That was Sunday evening.

Late Monday, just as I am on my way to a meeting I get a call from a London number. It’s “Josh” from Wembley. He’s calling about the package offer I’ve been sent. He’s wondering when they can expect payment. WTAF? I tell Josh my bank says its all gone through and that Ive sent email confimation of payment. Pauses on the line ensue. Josh is not sure, but its obviously not the first time he’s had such a dialogue. Eventually he asks nicely if I would resend my email. I promise to do so after my meet.

The confimation of the order arrives next day.

Is that a premium operation? If you want to book an airline flight in first class, do they vet you to determine whether you are worthy?

Its not the fault of Josh and his hapless colleagues. They are under pressure, sure, but its clear that there are not enough of them and that they have an antiquated system. That is the fault of senior management, who I am sure are on absolutely top dollar. Profit before service levels, as so often with second-rate managment. And ultimately the fault lies with the owner, which is the perenially incompetent FA.

One person makes a stupid comment about the booking fee and then we have about 50 more arguing about it.  Can some of you shut up winding up people.  Lets just discuss the ticket situation and stop blocking up the thread.  Lets help people get tickets. Take it outside you knobheads.

    See ... you're joining in, too! ;)

I read that some people were starting to receive their tickets via email and then noticed I had one unread message in my inbox.

So I excitedly clicked through .......... only to find it was an email from HMRC about Self-Assessment. C****!
    :-(
That’s the worst type of fee by far

I am just not quick enough, every time I see a pair, by the time I click on add to basket they have gone! Been sat refreshing for the best part of 8 hours yesterday and all today since 7am.

Queue has been added to ticket portal, I presume for what was billed to be the next phase today at 2pm might be worth it just in case if people are waiting for news from club to join if they need tickets still just incase the club add these 1,400

There’s a queue to get into the website now - seems additional tickets coming at 2pm
  • At risk of getting back on topic.

The queuing mechanism is back on the ticket site. Not sure if there's a sale about to happen or someone just forgot to switch off the timer for the general sale.

For anyone in the queue now, yesterday I had the tab opened on my laptop and also on my iphone with the Charlton App. The Laptop gave me a waiting time of 32 mins and the Iphone app 4 minutes.

Just checking the Orient site, still a lot of tickets available in the allocation they've had in the last few hours, you'll pretty much have 511 to yourself if you book one there at the moment

Sorry if this has already been covered, but:

    1. The queueing system is back on the website; and
    2. The booking fees are a complete joke.

    Please discuss.
