It’d be interesting if we did sign someone on loan before the window closes we’re a Championship club now so JRS returning isn’t exactly outside of the realm of possibility & it would help Apter & Campbell if we had someone who could play either of their roles, maybe Olaofe is the most suited to the Campbell role but we’re not gonna go the whole season without anyone picking up an injury
People adding 2 and 2 together to get 5 at the moment - blog post above says JRS thinks Charlton would be ideal if he goes out on loan but:
1. Palace have to decide to loan him instead of cashing in and let’s face it he still isn’t getting near their first team 2. Palace then have to decide Charlton is the best place for their player / will give their club the most return 3. Charlton & Nathan Jones have to decide they want him and he will be a net positive addition
Luke Berry linked with Luton on loan this morning ??
I can see that, given he's now third choice in that 10 role.
I know I'm relatively alone in this, but I don't think he was that great last season, which may be why we brought in two players. And he'll offer less in the Champ than L1.

I still think he could be useful from the bench if we need a goal. Scoring goals is our biggest challenge so I’d maybe want to keep him around. But also wouldn’t be that against him leaving now I’ve seen what Carey can do and now that Fullah is coming through

I think Fullah showing such promise has changed that situation - he has a genuine chance of contention, off the bench at least - which means Berry is probably out on the verges now.
Well Jones seems fairly confident or at least did a few days ago that we’d be seeing another permanent signing so based on that I’m guessing that something must be well advanced. If it wasn’t I’m not sure why Jones would have been so confident. It’s going into the last days of the window so perhaps it’s reliant on his current club signing a replacement. Can’t see it being JRS as a permanent so whoever it is his name has gone well under the radar unless of course it’s Fukuda.
If it’s true and Fukuda is incoming at least he is fully match fit. Might take a week or two of adjustment but he’s ready in terms of fitness. I wonder if he speaks English ?
I wouldn't be surprised if we've upped the chase for Fukuda now we've played a few games and seen that we don't really have ample cover for Apter. When TC moved to the right on Saturday he looked lost, and the way we play means a slower but more technically proficient RWB like JRC won't work well, and we don't want to upset the back 3 balance by moving Ramsay there either.

Carey and Knibbs play in the same position as Berry, Knibbs has already scored from the bench
