A player we could potentially look at is Nelson Abbey - formerly of Reading. He was an absolute beast up until he moved to Olympiakos. He's still only 21
There he's played a few games and been shipped out on loam to Swansea and Rio Ave in Portugal
Maybe he'd be interested in a return home for some regular football.
Wages aren't horrific with estimates of around £4k a week and he only has a year left on his deal. He could be ripe for the picking and certainly has the physical profile and pace we would be looking for. He's also left-footed so adds a bit of strength in that position alongside Jonesy and is a pacy alternative to Goalesphey
Just a thought
Really solid shout that even when we beat Reading 4-0 last year I remember he looked very good
No way does Terry Taylor deserve any degree of opprobrium. I can’t see anything he has done wrong at any time, he can’t help getting injured late on at Northampton, it didn’t happen to mess up our plans. The guy has been unfortunate, and it is not as if he is without some quality, he is no Ben Reeves.
Rumours threads are like Japanese pixelated porn. You open it up, hoping to see some action, but leave pretty soon, knowing you''ve just spent 30 minutes in front of your PC, yet walk away frustrated and underwhelmed.

He was outstanding and just what we need.He really impressed me whilst at Reading.Hooefully we can bag him.
My only caution is I don't know much about him apart from impressing me in that game. Previously I was also impressed / excited when we signed Marcus Maddison and Scott Fraser. Both of whom were superb against us . Although both had their moments in an Addicks shirt .Maddison really impressed me the couple of times I saw him live and his goals against Orient and Plymouth were superb and Fraser wasn't that terrible. He just wasn't consistently the same player that I saw boss the game for MKD against us.
Have to also remember for every 1 Kayne Ramsay there 10 Gilbey’s Lavelle Kirk’s etc. recruiting from below banking on potential is too risky for the stage we’re at could get away with it as a consistent championship midtable team but when u need to stay up we need players we know are ready and can do it
I think Ramsay is a bit different as he had fallen down to that level from a premier league academy, similar with Thierry Small really. Those are the kind of signings I’d be very happy to see us make, young players that have had to drop down to find their feet but are capable of playing much higher
Agree on the likes of Gilbey, Kirk, Lavelle etc anyone that hasn’t been above that level before should probably be ignored now
I hear you Naby but we tried a myriad of Matt Smith's from City and Arsenal before and that didn't work. We just have to hope the due diligence from big Phil Chapple can deliver whether players have a top academy background or are playing for a Dunfermline.
A few proven Championship players would be imperative for stability along with quality scouting for the players with the potential high ceiling improvement.
Looking at that table, surely that means the club will spend 5-15 million on transfers this summer. That seems surreal right now. Can't remember the last time we dug that deep.
I’m sure Leaburn will go so we’ll generate some cash but I expect a tight ship on outlays.
With the last 2 seasons Leaburn has had, he's not going anywhere.
The club simply won't accept a small bid for him and his injury record over the last 2 seasons will not command any bids big enough for the club to sell. I'll be amazed if anybody even comes in for him let alone puts more than about £1m on the table which I just don't see the club accepting.
Apart from the Wycombe game, he looked like a right carthorse for most of his appearances last season. No chance anybody puts in a bid for him that would be worth accepting.
My replacement if Small goes. Got more of an eye for goal than Small. Not as defensively good as Small and his fitness levels not at a Jones standard tho.

I think if we did sign him, in our system he’d probably be a TC alternative (but on the right) in the front 2. I don’t think he’d be a Small replacement that can drop back into a back 5

Miles has struggled with fitness. I’m rather hoping that with that behind him and a full pre season he comes back the player we all thought and hoped he would be. I doubt there would be any serious interest in him anyway until he proves that.

Underestimating the pull of some League1 clubs there a bit imo. Considering we were signing 'championship' level players last season.
