Been talking to my son about the "good old days" when there were no transfer windows & you could sign players whenever you wanted. The only deadline was the 3rd Thursday in March. After that no more signings could he made that season. I remember we signed Bradley Allen around that time in '96 or '97.
Anyone think thats a better way of doing it ?
The current transfer window structure was meant to curb clubs spending stupid money. Liverpool just spent £400m+
But sold 200 million
Yep. And academy players count as ‘pure profit.’ I don’t know what to make of PSR. Over time it may balance out but it still favours the big clubs who have been able to spend more money historically.
Only our club to keep us in suspense on a done deal nearly 4 hours after the deadline 🤷♂️🤣
Presumably it's not a done deal until the FA say that the paper work was submitted in time and that it was completed correctly.
If the club announced it now and it was rejected there would be a major meltdown and chorus of "Only at Charlton". Currently if nothing happens the club can say "Nathan said we were done when the Bree deal was completed."
