Idk what everyone is worrying about

I'm not sure what is the worst lie there, us spending 5m, him at the age of 29 being worth 5m, or their manager not wanting him at the club.

We’re due at least an additional £9m in funds from the Championship pay deal. The likelihood is that most, if not all of this will be eaten up by bonuses and salary increases.  But it does mean that all the key squad players will see a decent pay rise and that whilst the headline may say PNE can “quadruple Thierry’s salary”, it’s likely that that’s his League 1 salary and we can afford to be more competitive with the £9m additional funds.

Add in some leeway from freeing up funds from the salaries we were allegedly paying Chuks, REG and Edun (from the table included previously) and I think we can pay more…if we think he’s worth it!

£3.5m plus add ons is a great deal for us imo
That is absolutely ridiculous to believe 3.5m is a good deal
You think ? How many games has he been fit to play the last 2 years ?
At 21 a goal ratio of 1 in 3 even with his injury record. The kid is still growing, he is to a completely different type of issue to Aneke, who's whole problems with muscular injuries is due to the heart condition he has. Miles is special, he will go all the way to the top. As I always come back to anyone with, show me another striker in the last 5 or 10 years at his age with 90 games and 30 goals. To want rid is genuinely fucking madness. Give the kid 8/10k a week, he'd will be a prize asset, another 10/15 goals next season in league one he goes for 10+ million with ease, well worth the 8/10k a week

Has Zach had a good enough season up there to warrant crack back with us next season? By accounts on here, he's done very well.
He will definitely get given an opportunity but the likelihood of him getting into the starting XI is still up for debate

Was having a read of Prestons forums and this made me chuckle haha, they seem to have the same issue on the rumour thread:

Anyway, here's the good part, one of their reputable posters from what I can tell shared this:

Which really conflicts with what I've read, hope the Preston guy is right.

Small could leave Charlton or could stay at Charlton.

I think he’s unfortunate that he’s competing with two of our best players in Ramsay and Jones, and if he played anywhere else then it would be Coventry’s role, who’s also up there as one of our best players.

For me he’s definitely got the potential to be a regular starter for us in the Championship.

I think he's definitely one to watch in pre-season and decide if he's got to the point of Championship squad.

At times last season he looked a lot better than an inexperienced twenty year old, impressive considering that was the Scottish Premiership.

Having said that, I don't know how bad his injury was which ended his season early.

Just listened to the Hard Truth podcast with the Peterborough owner,  he mentioned that he spoke to Jim Rodwell recently and that the wage demands Charlton were getting quoted were cricket score numbers. Stating the obvious, but clearly going to be very tough for us to compete.  We wont be paying 15-20k a week anytime soon.

I think he will be first back up to Ramsay’s role next season, maybe Jones role as well. So will probably get plenty of game time, particularly if we sometimes move Ramsay forward to wing back to be a bit more defensive in the championship

I think it’s clear that Jones likes him, his athleticism and on the ball are clearly things he will like. Just need to see if he has that aggression or whether Jones can add that to his game like he seems to have done with Gillesphey

If small does end up going can see Ramsay being moved to RWB and Zach to RCB. Gives us one less position to think about allowing us to heavy in midfield and upfront which are our main concerns personally. Alternatively in the scenario Jones goes if you bring a manager that wants to play a 4 back and wants a dynamic Cb that would give Zach the edge over Macca and Alex

Thierry is beginning to feel 'boxed' in but it will be make your mind up soon while his agent* probably tell him it's win, win as you have a Charlton offer on the table where you're liked by the fans yet their could still be an offer 'we' can't say no to.

    Sunderland interest in Ramsey ?
Cannot find a whiff of this anywhere. With the greatest of respect to Ramsay, Sunderland need better. They can’t be expecting someone to jump from L1 to the PL

Can't even get the money right.

    We've offered 8 million.

You have both just endorsed the point I was making.
There will always be random speculation that gets spread and gathers momentum.
I just gave Ramsey as an example off the top of my head as most of us feel he is the last player we want to leave. This was a post I did  on the Nathan Jones Thread this morning to the speculation that the Cardiff situation will be resolved ASAP. When I said about the kid in his bedroom I thought it was obvious what I was implying; possibly not.

THERE IS NO INTEREST FROM SUNDERLAND NOW CALM DOWN !

Radom speculation ? Do you mean discussion and rumours on a discussion and rumours thread ? I don’t care what point you are trying to make, it’s stupid to make up a rumour for whatever reason and then call people out for speculating on it. That’s exactly why these threads are so frustrating. Grow up.

You need to chill because you and others are being paranoid.
I thought it was obvious what I was implying with the emojis but when tensions are high obviously not.

Don't think Ramsay would look too out of place in the prem tbh, or any top flight league.

I think it's important he signs a longer deal this season as he is going to light up the championship imo.

If it's Kent, we've got no worries then.

Agree, while he would need time to adapt (little things he gets away with in L1) he’s the only one of the current squad who if he was thrown into the deep end of the PL could potentially hold his own.

Younger players might get there and Lloyd Jones has been very good, but Ramsay’s pace, strength, defending and composure on the ball means he has a good all round game as a RCB and that will have been noticed by bigger and richer clubs.

Hopefully we hold on to him, at least for one more year.

Not saying he isn’t good enough, just that it would be a big leap. Isn’t happening anyway so just idle speculation

I still can't believe he was at Harrogate. Like a Porsche parked outside a council flat.

Makes me hopeful we can get some real value from league 1 and 2 again.

Blimey, FLW actually got something right.

For any of the other Nathan Baxter enthusiasts, he's joined Watford

I think someone said on here before about the possibility of signing him?

I'd be suprised if Ramsey was still here next season.
