If our wage budget is £17m, then I can’t wait for the flurry of £4m+ signings on Monday morning.2

£17m seems steep for a wage budget , £17m total with half of that being the transfer budget would make more sense.
Would be a real statement to in effect double the wage budget0 -

Both have had lots of Championship and some Prem league experience. Very good standard. Can’t say more because I show my face on the button and don’t want to blow cover as the shareholder I refer to knows me through business…9

Considering the £11m uplift in central income a much bigger wage budget seems realistic.
Whether that is in the £15m range (the poster said under £17m) I don't know but I don't think it is out of the question.
I am dubious, without doubting @Pavoren007 was told this, how a shareholder in another club knows what our budget is.9 -
Derry Murkin — apparently that’s the name dropped on me today by some random German. Clearly, my Charlton towel’s attracting all sorts of loonies.6

Keep those beers flowing and do pop back later to tell us more. 😉3 -

Anyone worried about Aloafe's finishing, maybe he will be the nuisance alongside the clinical striker. I loved Pringle and he hardly ever looked like scoring but Hunt scored lots alongside him in 99-00.7

A murkin is a pubic wig. Murkins were worn by prostitutes after shaving their mons pubis, and are used as decorative items or erotic devices by both men and women.
We don't want that sort of person in our club.7 -

He doesn’t hate Charlton, the rumours (which are rumours) is that he said that Charlton are not a championship club, which given we have been between the Championship/League One during his career is a fair comment. The vileness part is what was added on but their (Leyton Orient) fans.

I know of one dutch player signed for a foreign club at least beginning of this month Still not announced at the moment.Seen picture of him in New Shirt as well.0 -
I can’t get excited about Famewo. Granted he was very early on in his career during his time here, and we were a poor team whilst he was part of it, but I keep thinking back to that Lincoln away game (we lost 2-1 late on). His attempts at keeping the ball on the pitch were something else. Out of the back 3 that started at Wembley, I’m not saying they couldn’t be improved upon, but that version of Famewo replacing any of them doesn’t instill me with much hope
let’s hope he’s really improved, otherwise he’s just beefing up the numbers5 -
Doucher is the best ITK because he just says what he hears and keeps it clear and concise. Cryptic clues are muggy and attention seeking.

There is also the added factor of every player improved individually under NJ.Caveat - can this trend continue in the Championship? If so, this is a very clever bit of business.6 -

That seems completely unrealistic. It would be much more realistic to be hovering around the 10-12 million annual squad wages in our first season back. Unless we are completely changing our clubs infrastructure and paying double the wages to each player we sign compared to our current players.
If we use 17 million as a base yearly salary across a 25 man squad, that would be 19k per player, per week.
We can't go from saying how expensive wages are (thinking Small for 10k is too much & saying we can't disrupt the squads wages), to believing we would have this kinda of drastic turnaround in a single window. So far all of our strongest links have been league 1 players.
West Broms wage bill is 19 million, and they've been a Prem/championship side for as long as I can remember. I would take what Pav heard (not having a dig at Pav, I believe he was told that) with a pinch of salt or you'll be likely setting yourself up for disappointment.
I'd love us to chuck the money at it but we need a bit of realism here.
I don't know what our transfer budget is or our wages budget, no one on here really does, but I'm sure NJ is happy with it and that we will be competitive in this league. As he's said numerous times we are not here just to make up the numbers and they are aiming higher than that. If so then we will have to spend to achieve that. Maybe not the numbers quoted today but maybe more than us fans anticipated.7 -
