In the second half I heard someone shouting something down near Jones, over and over again. I looked down and saw it was Barnsley's manager, screaming "SIT DOWN, SIT DOWN!!!" to their keeper. The keeper sat down and they did their timeout team talk. The fourth official was stood right next to the manager as he bellowed that out, and yet apparently can't do anything about the flagrant fake injury. This whole situation is utterly bizarre.18

A couple of months ago, I really wasn't looking forward to another disappointing end of season, but now we're full steam ahead and our last 2 games of the season are gearing up to be MASSIVE.4

Physios all then stretch one of the keeper's legs for a couple of minutes to make it look like a strain2 -

I've loved Chuks on his day here, but it's glaringly obvious that his best days appear to be over. It's not bashing, it's Charlton fans discussing our team after a game. Doesn't always have to be 'scapegoating' or 'bashing'.
If he plays well he will be getting praise again.24 -

Just the one mainly, Chuks. I think even Gassan could do more, he looked absolutely useless. No pace, no control and doesn't even bully people anymore.
It's actually quite sad to see but he has no business even being on the bench in such an important run in, we need players who are going to come on and allows us to continue with the press like TC and Godden do, can't have a complete passenger.
Sorry if that's harsh (he will probably score the winner vs Stockport now)It would be fantastic if he helped us to promotion with these cameos then bowed out.

Showing the signs of a real team now. even when Barnsley were attacking, bar the Keillor-Dunn chance, they didn't really threaten.
Winning ugly as well, which is something we have lacked in the previous seasons. As for Macca's goal, on the drive home last night my chauffeur mentioned that Ronaldinho scored a very similar one. He said something else but I'd stopped listening at that point.
All in all these are the matches we need to win and hopefully now teams will fear playing us.3 -

You can blame me for all the Aneke bashing, I made similar comments last week on the post match thoughts and opinions questioning his worth and role on the bench these days, and, apparently, needed to get myself tested for some sort of mental health illness as a result
Clearly, it's contagious.

As has been mentioned a few times now, I was really impressed with the way Macca has become a much more involved player, strong in possession and a good all round reliable team member, even getting in on the scoresheet with some pretty important goals recently, so good on ya macca.
Was feeling more and more for TC as the match progressed, in as much that he was getting no real support and being overrun on a few occasions as Barnsley doubled up on him more and more, he does need an out ball sometimes, and we really do need to provide this, he can't do it all on his own.
Anyway, we won and deservedly so, bring on Stockport Saturday, more of the same please...1 - Sponsored links:

He grew into the game but that last brilliant burst to put Leaburn through clearly did some damage and we're on borrowed time if he keeps feeling his hamstring at the end of every game. I wish we'd been able to bring someone with pace in to fill in for him against someone like Wigan or Mansfield. If he makes it to game 46 like this I'll be amazed and there might even be more to get through after that. Fingers crossed.3

Chuks is brought on with 10 to go (that's including added time) and expected to be a world star every time.
We need him on around 70 minutes to get in the game. Miles is an excited puppy, happy and able to run riot as soon as he comes on. Chuks isn't able to do that like he used to but I think he still has ability to be involved over the next two months.18 -
The two late goals at Orient were IMO helped by their more physical defenders being engaged by Chucks, Leaburn and Jones all being at the near post.
Chucks also seems to attract defenders to him which gives others more space.
As in all things team wise, the decisions are best left to St Jones the Baptist.

They really need to change the rules here and remove an outfield player for 30 seconds if the keeper goes down0 - Sponsored links:

As people have mentioned the spirit of the game - Has there been an explanation for why Lloyd Jones ducked under that cross? Was it just a brain fart or was one of the Barnsley players being a bit sneaky and underhand?0

An interesting attacking threat to add to a long throw. Perhaps we should train those in the box for this to be both impersonators and ventriloquists, when the ball comes in one of them is tasked with mimicking the oppo keeper and throwing his voice so it appears to come from their keeper.Worth at least 2-3 goals a season.2

But wasnt feeling 100% and even Macca ‘goal machine’ Gillesphey’s goal didn’t change things. My watch told me my heart was racing (145bpm) and I sadly couldn’t put that down to the excitement of the match.Lasted til about 70 mins but had to head home.Heart rate was going from 38-165bpm, so saw the doc this morning. Atrial fibrillation confirmed after ECG at the GPs. Now on blood thinners and beta blockers. Life’s a b*tch sometimes. 😩 I imagine there’ll be quite a few Lifers with similar issues, so I’m in good company!
Thought they all played well in the second half especially. Listened to the commentary on Charlton TV after leaving, and the final whistle blew while I was at London Bridge Station. Another big three points, which again takes some of the pressure off for the Stockport game.
Glad your getting treatment and hopefully we will both be fully sorted very soon.Good luck with your treatment.I’m thinking of upgrading my Fitbit watch to a smartwatch.
