  • Shit just booked my train tickets from kings cross. Forgot about the game may change. Luckily only £24....oh well.
Had an email today from the company that serves my area, Transpennine Express, stating that it's possible to change ticket dates and times for no fee, however, the change must be for the same journey .. worth a look to see if that applies in your case
Cheers lincs. I was hoping Peterborough sport were at home as a backstop but their away.

Probably have a day out anyway even if it's called off.
me too, hotel booked, just treat it as a mini break .. P'Boro has an undeserved (i m o) bad name, the place has a lot of history like most UK cities

IF this is moved, the only date for the fixture would be the 29th of April right?

The only slots we have for the fixtures are:

    8th April
    15th April
    29th April

Peterborough are at home to Birmingham on the 8th.

Peterborough are playing Birmingham in the EFL Trophy final on the 13th.

So that only leaves the 29th of April?

Peterborough also have to work out a new date for their away game against Mansfield, which was supposed to be on the 12th, but they will have to move that one forward now?
The fixture calendar is slightly flawed for L1 really, considering that a number of L1 games on the 22nd March will go because of the international break, there's a full fixture list on Tuesday 1st April the first Tuesday after that, the EFL final (which is likely to have L1 teams in it) is on the 13th April, and then there are the Friday/Monday games on the 18th/21st April before the season finishes.

It will almost certainly get moved, as i don't see how we won't have at least 3 call ups and Jones isn't going to want to ruin momentum by not having players available.

Also think it'll still sell out as the rearranged game would probably be mid-late April when we'll still (hopefully) have something to play for.

On a knife edge for me. Anderson will get called up and probably Dixon but he’s playing U21s so we’ll see. Small and Coventry were replacements due to injuries last time so no way to predict. Would hope Small at least has earned another U20s call up though

I mean I don’t want Small playing for anybody except us until the end of the season!
  • Have Jamaica got a game in the next International window? I didn’t think they did.

They have 2 Gold Cup qualifiers against the mighty St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Would be ideal if Peterborough are on the beach for the rearranged game. They’ve had a few good results recently so I think we will want to postpone

If he was called up before i can't see how Small doesn't get called up again as his form has been better since the last internationals. There's also Kanu as well.

If any 3 from Anderson, Coventry, Small, Kanu are called up i'm sure Jones will want it called off.

If Small wasn’t an injury replacement last time I’d agree. Kanu hasn’t been playing so probably won’t go. Coventry was also an injury replacement. Small is the key man I’m sure

Thanks nothing on Sky fixtures which where I was looking. Sky’s coverage outside of the Premier League is rubbish😀

  • Dixon didn't play for the u21s when they played abroad so he may still have passport issues(remember he lost his passport last international break)

AMB being injured works in our favour as he won't be called up by Australia.

    So who does that leave

Anderson(we can cope without for a game)
Kanu(not even made the bench the last 2 games)
Coventry(baring injuries I don't see Ireland calling him up)
Small (50/50 if he gets a call up for the u20s imo)

I say we can play without Anderson, Kanu even Coventry for 1 game

If Small gets a call up then it needs to be questioned, but I think ATM I would say I'm 75% confident the game goes ahead on the Saturday
  • We can cope without Kanu and even Anderson if Dixon is called up too. We can't if either of Coventry or Small are called up and both were late calls last time. Wouldn't surprise me what happens either way.
  • Clive, where do you find the sold tickets figure from?

  • Just bought 3 - We should be able to make an evening kick off if it does get postponed
  • The real risk though is not just if Kanu and Anderson are called up. It's if then Coventry and Small get called up as late replacements. Too late for us to call the game off. Being without the 4 of them would be a problem we wouldn't want.

We can but we shouldn't have to though, that's the point.

If we played the game without Anderson and Coventry and then drew or lost, everyone would be moaning we should've got it called off.
Particularly if we ended up missing out on a playoff spot because of it. Margins too tight to call with games running down. Play at full strength if we get the option to do so.

Yes, he meant we had a free week in the run up to the Peterborough game without having to play midweek although of course the Peterborough game could be postponed too giving us a longer break.

Personally if it's just Anderson, Kanu, Dixon missing then play and keep the momentum going.
  • edited March 7
Better off playing them in March. Their best player Poku will be back if we reschedule for late April (& he makes massive a difference for them)
