Charlton travelled up to the stadium that never sleeps in hopes of continuing their decent run of form in the league against a Rotherham side that is bang in form. And Rotherham came out of the gates quick, going two nil up in no time. A shellshocked Charlton couldn’t fight their way back into it until right before halftime, after a formation change that matched Rotherham’s diamond in midfield that saw a bit of improvement. A bit of clever play saw Charlton pull one back through Miles Leaburn, only to concede in added time to go into the half 3-1.
The second one half wasn’t much better. Nathan Jones made changes early and often but Charlton were too far adrift and Rotherham reminded us just how far off we are. Matt Godden pulled on back before the end to make the final result a little more respectable.
Charlton simply weren’t competitive for most of the match. Are we likely to see adequate reinforcements in the transfer window?
Rotherham 4 Charlton 2

Do not think so.
Hopefully our American Billionaires will soon realise that Charlie has spun them a load of bollox and he can't get us promoted on the cheap.
Overhaul the entire SMT and give us some confidence that next season will be better.
feel like i/we have been abused for so long its just taken the spark away being a charlton supporter
i just dont get very high with wins or low with losses
sad times
Hope I'm right.
Turns out it led to a dead end!
Last week Lloyd Jones is our saviour
The next week Lloyd Jones is the Devil 🤪
and it's not my fault @Oggy Red took it as encouragement rather than a warning.
Hopefully this game is a blip for the back 3/5 rather than a fundamental inability to be solid at the back whilst offering anything going forwards.
One thing is for sure and that is that we're currently not a championship quality team and need quality reinforcements in order to be serious about getting out of the league.
Just saw Bolton needed an injury time OG to get a point against Cambridge. Could be one for the die hards on both sides on Tuesday night.
Jones had his worst game of the season by a distance, Mitchell looked all over the shop and Gillesphy looked like he simply couldn't be bothered in that seconds half.
Docherty, Berry and Coventry is not the midfield to pick v a Steve Evans side; they are simply not strong and competitive enough.
A disappointing afternoon made worse by the fact I pressed purchase on the stream just as the announcement of their first goal was made and started watching as the second went in.
Still, NJ is happy with the squad and as a Championship level group of players in L1 he better get play offs or it would be an incredible failure of management.
Or should I call you 'Aliwriggle' ?
W A N K E R S !!!!
I thought I had made an error as a lay on my skanky bed in a Hi de hi sized room with one socket having to use our own sleeping bags because the beds are so skanky. Notice we don't even get a double bed!
After a hard night of partying last night, we literally had a seagull knocking on our door this morning for breakfast. Twice.
Resting up before the next round of tribute bands and copious amounts of alcohol, we're so pleased that like Donald Trump, we dodged the bullet. I feel for all the poor sods who made the trip.
