This is the road outside my house. I live about ten miles from Preston. What you see there in the middle is not thawed - it's two lines of black ice. There have been three crashes on that corner in the distance in the past two days. It's not predicted to get above 2 degrees, freezing fog is predicted overnight and it's going to be even colder in Preston tomorrow.
Even if the pitch is playable, it would be dangerous around the ground and in the stands - I'm stunned that the police haven't already told PNE to call it off.
It does not look good, as you said with the surrounding areas, things will be dangerous and this will surely have to be factored in. I hope it is not the same referee as was for Crawley.
-6 in Derbyshire - even colder in Preston and our grass and surrounds everywhere are frozen solid They don't have undersoil Can't see it being on - which is a shame as £10 for me and £1.50 for Junior !
Stay on the train for quarter of an hour to Lancaster FC. Ground £12 cash only 2 minutes walk from the station. Obviously that's £2 more than yer Preston tix, but well worth it. Also Lancaster has a few excellent pubs including in the station.
Switching to local options, for those in South london;
Cray Wanderers v Potters Bar at Flamingo Park, 3pm Dulwich H v Folkestone (Danny Mills "club legend" debut as manager) Erith Town v Sittingbourne at Bayliss Avenue

Was going to suggest (as an alternative to cancelling train tickets). Go up to Preston for a snow ball fight?

You'd have a job. That's been on the ground so long it's got the consistency of moon dust 😂

You're joking. They cancelled an annual snowballing event because it was basically ice....
The sad thing is, a lot of fans won't be able to do a Tuesday night. Seeing as the weather is going to improve on Sunday, I wonder if they thought about postponing for 24 hours which might have been doable for most fans. I suppose whilst it is getting warmer, it isn't going to be tropical and the pitch may be too frozen to thaw out by then. Then you have policing etc... too to think about. Tuesday is a quick turn around.

We'll not have 300 on Tuesday, top work for everybody that goes.
