These won't be everyone's cup of tea but:
    • The Harris Gallery is very good
    • Preston has two 'Spoons
    • The pubs around the railway station are nicer though
    • Avenham Park is absolutely beautiful as is the River Ribble that runs through it (you can see them from the train)
    • Brokholes Nature Reserve is a good place to spot deer
    • If it gets called off early enough you could walk the Preston Guild Wheel - of course it might not be the most comfortable of walks should the weather be bad enough to cancel a football match.
C'mon Stig, we're Charlton fans. The trains IN the railway station are the highlight. Football being off is a bonus!

If it’s called off at least we’d be in the draw for the fourth round .

If it’s called off late I will slightly adjust my position on the sofa, pick up my TV remote and change to another channel

You could go for a KFC.
Woolwich had the first McDonalds, Preston the first KFC.
Could go there afterwards to sober up

If the game is called off- when would the game have until to be played?
I think it would take priority over the Crawley match that was postponed.
I believe that is one reason no date has been set for the Crawley game.
Club is waiting to see if this game goes ahead first.

Tokyo Jo's is long gone in Preston, alas.
Made The Venue look like Studio 54
I went to Tokyo Jo's one Tuesday night after our game up at Burnley was called off. I reckon one of my shoes is still stuck to the carpet now, even though the building has burnt down and been demolished!

Still, £1 a pint wasn't to be sniffed at, even back then.
Funny that as the coach I was on having reached Burnley took us to Preston v Colchester.
Old Charlton goalie played for Colchester that night.

The prospect of a midweek slog up to Preston in mid January is grim. Kudos to whoever makes that trip should it happen.

There'll be some booked to do Preston, Rotherham and Bolton who'll do PNE on a Tuesday night if it comes to pass. Perhaps the kinder thing for those of us doing Preston would be to play it on the Saturday of 4th round day so at least it's not midweek. I think I'm right in saying we played Dagenham in 3rd round replay on the day of the 4th round once.

They've just said an additional 208 tickets are now available for the game. Surely they must've had some reassurances that it will be on to announce that?

Edit: that was yesterday at 14:45. My phone decided to send me a notification as if it was just announced!

Yes and then played our 4th round game at home to Tottenham a week and a half later. 2-0 up, lost 4-2. Knowing we would have got Stockport in the next round at home, who Tottenham then battered and subsequently made it all the way through to the semi final.

Yeah, we knew that game was on and were staying in Preston overnight. But having rung Burnley and been told the game was definitely on we then got the train over from Preston only to get there and find out it was off. Then had to wait for a train back to Preston again, by which time it was too late to go to the game.

Am I the only one annoyed that Billy Bob Thornton has us down to lose this one 3-0?
If it does get called off I’m going to his house and will shit through his key hole…

You wouldn't say that if you'd seen him in Fargo...

Yes the game was called off very late. Pity for you missing out on a game when you have travelled so far , I know how that feels.

still bet we both enjoyed the rearrange game with Burnley, once again by coach.

Well worth a visit, about a 7 minutes walk from the station, up the high street.

By precedent the Preston game would replace Bolton on Jan 21st. The FA Cup has always had priority.

it’s conceivable it would knock out the home game with Bristol Rovers on Jan 28th instead though as there is a bigger than usual gap to the fourth round.

I'm happy to say that I've never been back to Burnley since. Once was enough.

Also went to Preston- Colchester after Burnley game called off, there were more Charlton there than Colchester, and went to the re arranged Burnley game to see a enthralling 0-0 draw

I too was on that coach to Burnley that diverted to Preston on the way back. I went up to the rearranged Burnley game and my (bitter) memory is of getting beat 3-0 or so with one of the least inspiring away performances ever. It's over 30 years and I have not been back to either ground, although I have a ticket for Preston tomorrow.

Fairly sure at the rearranged game we were singing for Billy Bonds to be made manager

Only alternative for me if this is called off will be climbing deepdale and jumping off it head first.
