Both teams will go into this with an air of confidence. Us off the back of three wins and they for having beaten us recently. Let’s be honest and say this is a game we shouldn’t lose but this is also Charlton we’re talking about so all bets are off. I’ll say that this has a 1 - 1 draw written all over it. I’ll be watching Lloyd Jones’s performance closely. If he has somewhere else lined up I doubt we’ll see him risk getting injured. I doubt that but worth a mention.
Shooters, if he were going somewhere else he wouldn't start. In my opinion Jones won't be going anywhere and will be offered a new deal.

Why?
If he’s going somewhere else then we need to get as many points as possible before he does, and we have a far better chance of that with him in the team than without.

I can’t believe he wouldn’t change the side after the games we have had in a short space of time but it’s probably inevitable who else would play the same eleven 4 times in 10 days
I really really hope he doesn’t take Crawley for granted (like the home game)
This is a great opportunity to get in the mix with Reading next week hope they get it right
I think unless someone is really struggling or has a knock then we should go with the same XI, try to get the job done and then make subs around 60-65 minutes. They must be full of confidence so why change it unless absolutely necessary?
If i was Jones i'd be demanding a big push from them all to get through these next 2 league games with 2 wins, with a promise to them of a few days off after that to rest. He can also change a lot of the current starting XI against Preston, as after Reading it's 2 weeks to the next league game.
After only catching one of the last three games I'm looking forward to sitting down this afternoon for this. Great preview as ever and I agree that there may have to be some changes due to fatigue which is the norm over the Christmas period.
A game like this is always tough and the conditions will definitely make it tougher but due to a dodgy spell a few weeks back it's now become, not a must win but a game we can't afford to lose if we want to stay in the hunt for the top six.
Heads telling me 1-1 with fatigue and weather conditions playing a part. I hope I'm wrong! COYR
How is the weather there ? Any chance the game gets called off ?
Live 10 mins away, it's blowy yes but not too bad. Winds meant to die down by 1pm. Would of liked to think that If the game was in doubt, we would of heard an update from crawley by now

The why is easy to answer, Corey Blackett Taylor, how many games did he play in the month leading up to his transfer? Your notion that we will play him and get all the points we need is naïve, transfers take a while to get to the signing and if the selling club wants the money to replace the player with a cheaper option, whilst making a couple of hundred grand out of the overall deal, then it's in their interest to keep the player fit to pass a medical. It's not an issue anyway as I can't imagine Nathan Jones letting his vice captain leave the club.
The weather is wet and windy and we struggle to get our passes accurate on a windless day. If the game goes on it will be a lottery and who ever uses the wind to their advantage will win or who ever has the luck. After 9 from 9 over xmas I would rather this was called off as any confidence garnered from the recent wins could be blown away by Crawley.
3-1 Crawley ☹️and a good moaning post thread welcomes back posters who go missing when we win well against Northampton and Wycombe.
Hopefully I'm wrong and Gillesphey's mandatory overhit long pass early doors get carried by the wind over the Keepers head and we go on to 12 from 12 over the festive period 😀
Thursday Sunday Wednesday Saturday is a tough run of fixtures physically, whether we like it or not we have to consider the physical condition of the players, not just for today, but also Saturday.
The fixture computer has been very kind though, 3 home games and a local away game over the festive period, so at least there have been no long drives for the players or overnight stays.
Same side and a side looking to put right possibly their worst performance so far this season. Hopefully the weather relents so we see a proper game of football, happy with a draw, delighted with a win.

The club might not think or want him to go anywhere but we all know that means diddly squat if the player has other ideas.

Let his contract run down at Cambridge to move to us, and will no doubt do the same to get a championship move. Why wouldn't he?
Interestingly where I live in Leicestershire, we woke to a blowy but dry early morning. Then the weather front moved in and it absolutely pissed it down and the wind was horrendous! However now the front has moved through its dry and the wind has dropped to a slight breeze. If it follows the same pattern in Crawley then by about 2 pm it should be dry and a lot less windy. It depends how the pitch copes with the heavy rain as the front moves through. Not sure if this helps those that are going or not.
As above its a day to grind out a result..the weather,be it rain or wind ( probably the former) will make it a leveller, although literally the same for both teams. Let's not forget our hosts will be as tired as us .Do they have a bigger or fitter squad? I doubt it .I think we will get at least a point and hope we avoid injuries
