What I will say about Rob Hatch is he's a good cycling commentator and (I believe) a cricket fan. Cycling is like cricket in the sense that it goes on for hours and you have to be able to hold conversations not fully linked to what's happening. He's also used to commentating off TV pictures and with people in different parts of the world. IF they were going to go down this cheap route he is one of the better options they could have picked

Amy Jones is the most frustrating English cricketer I've ever seen I think. Unbelievable talent, but you just know in a crunch game she's going to play a stupid shot

Good to see her hit a bit of form today. Why was the match on so early? All the games I've seen so far have been 10:30 BST, so now 09:30 GMT

Yeah, thought it was just this one.

Just worked out why when looking at the fixtures and the timing of both semis.

I couldn't see when India's last pool match was - it's on now. So 2 matches o the same day; one earlier then one just started

The more I am hearing about the TNT coverage of the Ashes, the more I am fearful.

Commentary will be provided by Alastair Eykyn and Rob Hatch. Neither of these two have ever commentated on cricket. One usually covers rugby and the other cycling.  TNT ruled out the prospect of using the world feed commentary soon after securing the rights and have said that their coverage should appeal to more general sports fans: Their spokesman said

"The Ashes is a step above that. TNT Sports is a step above that… Nothing against the world feed, which will be a great production. But we needed to talk about what the Ashes meant to our audience, to TNT Sports."

Any suggestion that this has anything to do with TNT not wanting to pay for the live feed is, of course, complete and utter rubbish.
    That is shocking.

Not got TNT but get discovery plus via sky stream.

Will I be able to watch ashes via that or does it not let you unless have tnt subscription?

There will have to be a dodgy stream online to get the world feed or whatever. I'm hoping so at least. Gonna moss Athers and Nass. Not gonna feel like the Ashes at all.

I mentioned TNT doing things on the cheap which is why they aren't using the live Australian feed and bringing in commentators that have never covered cricket. To put that in perspective, TNT are paying £15m per annum, on a 4-year deal, to show all of Australia's home internationals whereas as Sky pay the ECB almost 15 times that at £220m per year.

Not sure that's comparable. Foxtel paid $214m per year for Australia rights. The rights are always more valuable to the "home country". Foxtel paid the ECB $20m per year for the last and next Ashes series which is similar to what TNT have paid

They're not using the Australian feed because everyone here hated it. For such a partisan series, having  Aussie voices dominating is painful.

So, Foxtel and TNT will pay almost  the same to cover away series but Sky couldn't afford £15m themselves?

That’s a different question and shows that Sky are doing this series even cheaper than TNT by simply not bothering. Sky just don’t buy away series anymore, clearly they don’t think they get enough viewers in the middle of the night

Rest assured, if Australia aren't doing so well those Australian commentators will be the first to be all over their players - and harsher than ours are on ours. If we are getting thrashed I won't be staying up anyway but if we're doing well I would prefer people who know their sport inside out commentating - it's a bit arrogant of TNT to suggest that Rugby and Cycling commentators know more than the likes of Michael Vaughan.

You have a whole host of pundits to pick from and that’s who you go for? A consistently poor pundit who doesn’t do research and just says anything controversial to get headlines. And that’s before the alleged racism

Because that's who Foxtel have picked not me! Although I agree with what you say, it really is land of the blind stuff. And he will know more than those other two.

More than a thousand cricket fans packed Parramatta Square, Sydney, for the fan event, to hear from and meet Fox Cricket greats including Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, Ravi Shastri, Brett Lee, Mark Waugh, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brendon Julian and Rachael Haynes, alongside hosts Mark Howard and Megan Barnard. Australian Test Captain Pat Cummins, spin-bowler Nathan Lyon and WBBL star Hannah Darlington also attended to help preview what promises to be an unforgettable summer of cricket.

This year, Kayo SPORTS’ coverage features two blockbuster international tours. First up is India, with a three-match ODI series starting this Sunday, October 19 and a five-match T20 series from October 29, with every match LIVE and exclusive on Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel. Viewers on Kayo SPORTS will once again have access to an alternative Hindi commentary feed.

Then, it’s all eyes on The Ashes series on home soil, with every Test LIVE in 4K. Fan favourites Isa Guha and Michael Vaughan will return to the Fox Cricket commentary team as their home nation England attempts to secure the Urn for the first time in a decade, beginning November 21 in Perth.

Between those two I’d have picked out Isa Guha every time! A fantastic broadcaster and commentator

I think she is very good too but Vaughan has been there and done it in the Ashes. I didn't have the vast amount of commentators to pick from that you suggested when you said "You have a whole host of pundits to pick from and that’s who you go for?"

Vaughan and Guha will be infinitely better than a couple of people who have never commented on cricket at all however good they are at doing so on their own sports. It's the cheapest option TNT could find. But it's not even that - it's the fact that they have the arrogance to suggest that it will be even better.
