This is ridiculous. Finch out to another ill judged hack and caught at first slip. 5 down with our tail having to try and see out another 17 overs. Very poor.
Brainless from Agar. Not that it’ll make a lot difference I fear. Looks like Northants are only going to need 9 wickets. If it weren’t for the rain we’d have probably lost already!
He will play no further part in the game and has left due to personal reasons. That has to be something serious and in those circumstances, the result might become a bit of an irrelevancy.

Whatever the result, the fragility of our batting under pressure has been shown in the last 2 games. Two final day collapses, entirely down to not coping with the pressure of the match situation, rather than demons in the pitch.

Not to me it won't.
The result is a bit of an irrelevancy whatever the circumstances. We aren't going up. Full stop. It's all about building for next season now.
Probably the worst Kent team in my lifetime, dsying back to the late seventies. I'll accept we have injury woes, but to watch Northants run up over 700 runs on that wicket, only for us yo collapse so badly is just infuriating. Not sure how we expect to rebuild either. If our better ayers are leaving, and we seem to be pretty skint, I can't see any reason to hope for better next year.
We aren't very good at batting on anything other than flat decks and where there is no pressure and haven't been for a number of seasons.
That said, we had an 18-year-old and a 19 year-old in our top three in this match and both batted very positively. The only way they are going to get better is by playing first team cricket and this really is the ideal season for them to gain that experience. The alternative is that we revert to the likes of Leaning and Joe Denly, once he's fit, with potentially the same situation next season and an expectation that the likes of Jaydn and Ekansh then come in and perform without this experience.
I would encourage people to look at Ekansh's boundaries in the second innings and then see the ball he received from Chahal that would have got out any number of batters. The fifth boundary, in particular, was pure class.
Muyeye's brother was in a car accident. Thankfully he's ok.
Something which would have brought back terrible memories for Hollioake. He's interesting on the Kookaburra ball, as we apparently had it reversing yesterday, but that ball got lost...

Billings woeful with the bat yet again. Never bowl our overs in time either!
