I thought he was being quite useful there to be fair, better than one of his posts about a newsagent but each to their own.4

A former football club boss says he will knock down his million-pound family home to satisfy 'jobsworth' council planners and his neighbours.Paul Elliott, who once owned Championship side Charlton Athletic, fell foul of the local planning authority after extending his four-bedroom house without permission.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14598429/Neighbours-war-mans-illegal-two-storey-extension-locals-claim-increased-size-home-140.html25

Someone had better tell the Mail that, like his house, his story is a'load of bull. He never owned us. Ever.
And I can now see why he's fighting for his £500k back.6 -

Apparently the plans were "given the nod", but he never applied for the proper planning permission. Diddums.3 -
I think of a few people that would volunteer to help with the demolition. Imagine the cathartic glee of swinging a sledgehammer at his gaff.5

Seems to do a lot of stuff this bloke, without official permission!10

Come back to bite Sheriff Fatman a bit. Anything to keep kneecap finance from the front door. Feel for the people that have paid rent to the little weasel. Wonder if he took legal advice from someone0

IF he owned Charlton, then I own his house and i choose to knock it down with a buldozer while he's gaffer taped to a chair in the living room.1

What sort of name for a place is Over Peover?0

Do you think IPS Law have a chance of getting any of their fees paid?0

The particulars of the claim were filed with the court today. I cannot see them without a subscription but maybe someone else can?1

So does anyone know the latest on Elliott suing Charlton?0
-
The latest is that the "particulars of the claim" have been filed with the court yesterday. It is unlikely to come to court before June at the earliest, and probably much later in the year. I'm sure we will hear more nearer any court date, if that ever happens.Covered End said:So does anyone know the latest on Elliott suing Charlton?1 -
Didn’t Sandgaard employ some very wily city lawyers to untangle the mess of his purchase of the club ? Wouldn’t expect for them to have missed out on anything likely to cause legal problems further down the line.3

Freshfields, if I remember correctly. They generally seem to have a better reputation for legal work than Chris Farnell 🤷🏻♂️ShootersHillGuru said:Didn’t Sandgaard employ some very wily city lawyers to untangle the mess of his purchase of the club ? The guy is an idiot for doing it without planning permission but not sure what's actually wrong with it that they'd object to it. It's a detached house that backs on to fields, not like it's causing any problem to anyone.idealworld said:A former football club boss says he will knock down his million-pound family home to satisfy 'jobsworth' council planners and his neighbours.Paul Elliott, who once owned Championship side Charlton Athletic, fell foul of the local planning authority after extending his four-bedroom house without permission.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14598429/Neighbours-war-mans-illegal-two-storey-extension-locals-claim-increased-size-home-140.html
Feels like whoever is involved has rejected it just to prove a point. My heart bleeds for the clown.0 -

Yes, but that was the sale. This is about the apparent half a million quid "loan" that Elliott made to the club prior to the sale, which he now wants back. If the club thought it due, it would be shown in the accounts, but it isn't (AFAIK); Elliott must have some paperwork which suggests it is, but until we are able to see the court papers, we don't know what that is... (It will be interesting to see whose names are on any evidence provided, especially as Farnell was involved with the club at the time, and his firm is representing Elliott here - surely a conflict of interest m'lord!) The other contentious point was that it was thought Elliott had "sold" the debt to the welsh dentist, and if not, what was he on about at the time?ShootersHillGuru said:Didn’t Sandgaard employ some very wily city lawyers to untangle the mess of his purchase of the club ? I think the club should settle out of court and organise a group of fans to help him demolish his home to save on the demolition costs. I'll happy volunteer!6
