  • I've said this before, but it seems baffling to me to have 9 phases, but to give no notice for people eligible for the early phases, and then get through them so quickly that the tickets will be on general sale in 2 days time, a month before the game.

9 phases is a nonsense, but if you are to have that many phases, why not spread them out over a week so that general sale isn't until next Monday?
  • Combine phase 1 and 2 to make phase one
Combine phase 3 and 4 to make phase 2.

    Just simplify the phases.

Won’t happen, simply because priority for away tickets has been a feature of Valley Gold membership since the scheme was introduced. Every Charlton fan knows this, so not sure* why people always bring this up.

*I am sure really. We’re a moaning lot at the best of times!! 😏🤷🏻‍♂️

    No moaning from me.
I'd just prefer it if there were less phases.
So many phases seems a bit silly to me especially when there are three phases on the same day.
  • Sorry @blackpool72 Not aimed at you at all…but you know these threads usually get swamped.

In fact, as to @killerandflash’s point, it’s the Valley Gold participants who have to be on their toes for these quick phases if they want to take advantage of their preference.

Surely you would agree that NINE phases spread over just 2.5 days is a bit bizarre?

And all for a not especially attractive fixture, the Saturday before Christmas.

Northampton will be very popular hence the restrictions put in place
  • Easy to get to. Traditionally a decent crowd for last game before Christmas and a number of tickets which we’ve shown we can sell comfortably in recent years. Perhaps just go to general sale at phase 6.

Could make it a birthday trip?
  • Does anyone know how many tickets you’re allowed to purchase as need to buy 4?

    2 it’s always 2.

I bought 3 tickets for Wallsall.
When they go on general sale you can buy up to 6.
But as Covered End says above only 2 while the point's system is ongoing.
  • No idea how well they’re selling but got mine today. Another new ground for me

No idea why these have gone on restricted sale. We have almost 1500 tickets. The match is the last weekend before xmas. People (aka controlled men) will be traipsing round the shops with their other halves looking for last minute bargains & doing the food shopping. Others will be visiting family & friends whilst some will be jetting off ski-ing or sunning themselves in warmer climes.

    Be lucky to sell 1000.
  • Not to mention the hangovers from Christmas dos the night before.

I think we will sell out.

I agree. After the glut of away games in the next fortnight or so Northampton is then the only one before Crawley on New Year's Day. It's not overly far and the train fares aren't as bad as for some northern away games this season.

I reckon lots will see it as the perfect pre Christmas blow out. The football being a side show to the day out.
  • Got three this morning.  What’s this “Christmas shopping” thing Golfie was talking about??? 🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂

  • The EIGHT phases before going on general sale, a month before the game, were a bit unnecessary  :D

  • Surprising, given our good numbers the last couple of years. It's only £20 return from Euston with a rail card on the day.

Some people will be busy before Christmas, it's not a new ground, and it's a fairly dull away game also. Plus our dreadful football...

I might go, but am in no rush to buy tickets.

Sales will ramp up in the week or two before, especially if we somehow manage a few wins
