Like many of you I have supported Charlton for over 50 years, I've seen us in all but the lowest league level and the way Jones has the team playing now is about the worst I've seen, they sold our 2 best players who now play for our competitors, they have brought in very few players as good as those two. I would accept this awful way of playing if we won more games but I just can't see it. Ok I do watch matches on CATV and not live but the current football is dross. I'll carry on doing the stats but not with pleasure. From his arrival I have thought Jones to be another poor manager and nothing has changed my mind.

Will take a break now as even during the early points haul, it has been awful to watch.
Maybe one last time when Leaburn returns but one man don't change a team or a system.
Let's face it, the only people left are the hardcore. When even they're flagging, it's gotten pretty serious.
Frustrating.
It’s unfair to compare us to Birmingham who have spent what, 30m, to get out of League One or even Wrexham or Stockport who have confidence and momentum which counts for a lot in football. Then look at Bolton, they have spent about three seasons assembling their current squad. Nathan Jones has had one window. Rome wasn’t built in a day. He’s sorted us out defensively, maybe it will take a couple more windows to address the other glaring issues. I think it a tad unfair to expect him to work miracles. That’s not to say he’s not got questions to answer and some of the recruitment at the moment looks questionable at best but we need to give him time. Whatever one may think we are not going to attract anyone better.
Will be interesting to revisit this at the end of October after we have beaten Birmingham, Stockport and Wrexham.
The trains are out for Huddersfield away on November 23rd
I’m pissed off and frustrated too but we’ve already tried going through manager after manager hoping for a quick fix.
I’m clinging on to the fact that we’re at the early stages of the healing process. Giving up now would be like giving up on a diet because you’ve only lost two pounds in the first month.
🙁
I am absolutely sick of being in this division, it’s rarely enjoyable.
But I’m taking a longer term approach, yes we are predictable, and not creative enough, my view is it would take us at least a couple of seasons to become a serious promotion candidate, it’s a huge ask to turn it around as we’ve had so many rubbish players to pay off / get rid of, we’ve not been a serious club for years.
A top 2 team would have gone there and won / got something out of that match today.
What we could do with a Johnnie Robinson type of player in the team, never settle for second best, and knew how to cross a ball.
What worries me is that Jones persists with an isolated striker, he forced our Golden Boot winner out wide last season where he was far less effective. He then forced him from the club. He bought a crap striker to replace him who has an abysmal scoring record, which continues this season in a Charlton shirt. To win matches the way Jones wants to play, we need a Darren Bent, I haven't seen one this season and probably won't again in my lifetime.
Perhaps things will change when Miles returns, but we shouldn't be relying on one youngster to score goals and win matches.
The latest owners have made some bad decisions Appleton, CBT and not replacing him , Dobson contract fiasco and May going.
Those 2 with our defence this season would be great progress.
In years to come your 9 year old will thank you for those memories, I'm not sure about his upcoming trip to Huddersfield though.
