  • I do find it a bit odd we can never find players who actually support us. I suppose 15 years of L1 does that
In London there are so many other teams to support, it's a very different environment than one club towns and cities elsewhere in the country.

I can't imagine that Millwall or Palace  have that many players who support them either.
Gary Alexander is a massive Millwall fan and I think Tony Cascarino was before signing for them.
  • Dave Martin, played for the spanners & the nigels. Think his family are Charlton.

I used to knock about with the Martin brothers back in the 70s.
They are all charlton through and through.
  • Late 70’s early 80’s player Paul Curtis was both a fan and player
  • Also Graham Tutt was
  • Peter Shaw used to go a lot to games, I do not know if he was Charlton.
Still does….not sure if he was a fan before he played for us but certainly is now……nice fella is Peter.

Worked in the city after us.

Use to play cricket against Peter( he played for Kensington), always spoke well abt his time at the club, not seen him for a few years, but think the club could track him down, I’m sure he would love to be part of the ex players new group.

  • Charlton fan who could run all day and had a great eye for the ball and would've been the fittest player ever for CAFC. Very good on the right or left; he never seemed to find the net but was a great striker 🤔

  • So, it seems we don't have many fans in the world of professional footballers , or in the world of "celebrities".

So just what do our fans do by way of jobs? Train drivers? Accountants? Full time nerds?

Was particularly gutting when he scored Millwall's equaliser I'm the 4- 4

    Cracking game that was
