How many players that have played for us have been supporters prior to joining us? I remember hearing Ryan Innis was, I think Mason Burstow & George Lapslie were too and possibly Micheal Turner off the top of my head?

I think there is very loose terminology of what’s classed a ‘fan’ where players are concerned. The only two I’ve ever properly recognised as fans were Rob Elliot and Gordon Watson, the Beadles would have joined that if they had stayed

Van Nistelroy was a Charlton fan but he realised that with Martin Pringle as our center forward his games would be limited so he joined Man utd instead.

Isn’t the reality that if you make it as a professional footballer you likely never really followed any team in the sense of regularly attending because you were playing yourself or affiliated to an academy?
