Gassan Ahadme - Aug 2025 gone on a season long loan to Stevenage

He's a perfectly ok mid tableish L1 striker. Stevenage, Lincoln, Burton, that sort of side, going for £100k to £200k.Chunes said:I remember Cambridge fans saying they liked him, but were surprised we signed him because his ceiling is mid-table L1. Now he's gone to Stevenage, which stands up.
I think we'll be loaning him out for the remainder of his contract because nobody will pay him what we're paying him.
What he wasn't was a promotion side striker, or worth the fee we paid, and the wages we are paying him. But that wasn't his fault.2 -
James Brayne. Dr Will Abbott. And now this!!
Terrible week for the football club!9 -
All the best Gas, thank you for Shrewsbury away, Southend away.0

Shame, I was looking forward to seeing Ahadme get on the end of Apter’s crossing againTodds_right_hook said:

Good move for him, all the best Gas!Callumcafc said:1 -
Maybe they took him home with them on Tuesday night!

Hope we took the petrol costs off the loan.se9addick said:Maybe they took him home with them on Tuesday night!1 -
Good luck to him, hope he rediscovers some fitness and form. I don't think he's ever going to get to Championship level based on what we've seen so in that sense I hope we don't need him again but a good season for him makes him an asset either for use or sale.4

Hopefully he does well enough that someone buys him in January. Sooner he leaves the better.0

Good luck to him, some of the stick he got from some people was well OTT. At the end of the day, after a reasonable amount of games, he didn't appear up to it. Some signings work, some don't. Thaaaaaaaaaaats football.8

Better he does there the bigger his market is in January/next summer, so I hope he does very well.2

I want him to score as many goals as possible for them, as it gives us more chance to recoup as much of our fee as possible. A similar season to Cambridge before he joined us (10-15 or so goals) would do nicely.0

Personally think he was one of the worst strikers I’ve seen play for the club, which is a hotly contested competition, so be interested to see if he can live up to your billing elsewherekillerandflash said:

Good luck to Gassan - let’s hope he performs well enough to earn himself a permanent move somewhere, although his wages may make that difficult. If, however, he manages to knock some goals in, who knows.
Given the size of Stevenage as a club, I imagine we are paying the vast majority of his wages.
The loan gives Gassan a chance to try and resurrect his career and it’s good for us and squad morale, given how unhelpful it is to have players around who have no real prospect of playing.

Always gave his all. Good luck to him. Hope he does well there.6

Good luck to him, think some of the comments about him are well over the top. Thought he's an honest pro who tries his best. Not his fault we paid too much for him12

Is there a recall clause should the club draw Southend away in the Cup ?6

I reckon that we tied him up, gagged (or gassed) him, and put him in the luggage of their coach yesterday.Callumcafc said:
Then we called Stevenage while they were on their way back, and informed them of our free gift.1 -

He already has lived up to that billing - the season before he joined us at Cambridge. Which suggests @kil@killerandflash comment is pretty fair and accurate.1 -
Good move all round. Think that level is all he is capable of and thats on a good day.0

Hope he does well and gets his mojo back. It hasn’t worked out for him here, it happens. And don’t forget the fee we paid for him isn’t his fault, the blame for that lies elsewhere and thankfully he’s departed too.4

He certainly wasn't good enough for us, as I've said on many occasions even when we were linked with him I said it was a bad move. Having said that, people at our club decided that he was exactly what we needed so when we offered him a 4 year contract on a decent wage nobody can blame him for signing on the dotted line. Blame the idiots who thought he would be what we needed & stuck a 4 year contract on the table.paulsturgess said:

Mystic Meg back in September. Its going to happen.balham red said:Call me mystic meg but I can foresee in 2 seasons time we will be negotiating canceling his contract by subsidizing the remainder of his salary. We've seen this story before.
I do sincerely hope he comes good, but nothing within his performances, statistical record, or previous fans' testimonials gives me any sense of optimism.

Might not have the supposed skill of Fraser and Kirk, but always gave it a go unlike those two shirkers.0

Do we know how much we paid for Ahadme?0

Good luck Gassan.
Effort was never a problem with you.
I hope to be able to watch the ITV football on a Saturday and see you scoring and playing well.
The same with Taylor and Asimwe.0 -
A loan was always on the cards, good luck to Gassan, as well as Terry, they have done nothing to deserve any stick at all. Decent pros just a bit unlucky with injuries while not fitting perfectly into what NJ wants from his forwards and midfielders.2
