    Embarrassing run from Leicester.

Last 16 league games, won 1 lost 15!

Steve Cooper was sacked with Leicester in 16th.

    That went well  :#
I don't know whether they would've stayed up under Cooper or not, but they certainly would've been more competitive!!
It's similar to Rooney at Birmingham, big name player but lacking managerial experience.

Leicester vs Southampton on 3rd May will be the game where the latter avoid breaking Derby's record

Leicester really panicked hiring RVN after a couple of decent games for Man Utd.

Managed 4 games for United, all were at home, 1 was against a poor team from Greece and 2 of them were against Leicester who are obviously shit. Not exactly the best set of games to judge a managers ability as they have since found out.

Starting to look a ridiculously difficult task for promoted sides to be competitive in the top flight. Imagine Burnley & Sheffield United will need to spend a couple hundred million to get anywhere near the 40 point mark. Anything above 30 points seems to be a good season for promoted clubs.

I don't know who this says more about, but apparently since Leicester last scored a home goal in the league, Southampton have sacked 2 managers.
And they are paying the dire consequences.

No doubt breaking FFP rules in the process, meaning they'll be docked points and still be at risk of relegation... and people wonder why I've got no issue with what Man City etc. "get away with"

If they break PSR rules “correctly” like Forest they’ll be fine

I don't feel too sorry for Leicester - they've had a brilliant last decade.

Leicester's last league goal was the 2-1 win at Spursy on the 26th January. That's 8 games in a row without a goal, a feat which almost seems impossible, you'd surely fluke a goal from somewhere?

Their last home goal was on the 8th December. That's 8 home games also in a row without a goal.

They're squad is poor, but it isn't that bad surely?

Won 10 points from 12 under him, they've got 7 in 19 under Van Nistelrooy.

That said, stretch Cooper's record across the 31 games and they'd still be in the relegation zone - 4 points below Wolves rather than 15!

It's not great. When your star summer signing is Oliver Skipp it doesn't really set the tone for a strong season.

I like that he's won 3 games and drawn 1 gake at both clubs he's managed this season.

Issue is that was in 4 games for United and 20 for Leicester!

It's the equivalent of Charlton in recent years signing players because they played well against us...

Very good article. Quite surprised by this bit though as it doesn't seem like it's true:

"an average of 2.94 goals per game this year, which puts it ahead of every single year from the 90s, the 00s, and the 2010s"

Gary Neville says that the Man United team don’t take enough risks.

People who are scared are afraid of taking risks.
So what is the risk? Losing money. Losing one point now can mean losing money.

Relegation now means losing huge amounts. That’s why FFP has been devised: to kill off the fear of relegation.

Stage One: devise a system (FFP) that makes it almost impossible to stay up
Stage Two: argue that the promoted teams are too weak and gradually decrease relegation places.
Stage Three: introduce an election system, as before between the EFL and non league.

Mo Salah has put an end to speculation by signing a new contract to 2027.

I'd imagine by the end of that he'll be the PL's second highest ever scorer.

Which is mental considering he’s a winger

Mo Salah is not a winger; he takes up the ball in wide positions but he has licence to go central and most of his goals are from central positions and from the angle of the six yard box.

Man City cut open by the form team in the Premier.
0-1 and even without Marc Guehi, Palace look solid.

0-2 from a corner and Ederson flaps and simple goal for Richards.
