  • Zirkzee hauled off after 30 mins
He's got a contract until 2029 as well!

    Onana 3.5 years left
    Antony 2.5 years
    Mount 3.5 years
    Casemiro 1.5 years
    Shaw 2.5 years
    De Ligt 4.5 years
    Hojlund 3.5 years

Very hard to overhaul a squad when half of it is still tied to long contracts.
They are in a world of trouble right now, getting rid of any of those on the sort of money they’re on is nigh on impossible.

Salah is just unplayable isn't he. Arguably the best player in the world right now.
Does he ever get a mention for Ballon D'Or?
Might do if he carries on like this all year!

Christ... Will Amorin survive the season at this rate
Liverpool away at the weekend, could be a very long day for him.
  • Man Utd last relegated in 1974 - those were the days. Tommy Docherty at the helm.

Would be amusing if they keep losing.
  • What a night for the Ipswich fans. That must give them confidence that they can stay up.
  • PL much more interesting this season- a lot more competitive.
  • Amorin must be wondering what he's got into. United are awful.

    Have made some dreadful signings.

If he couldn't see what he was walking into he's part of the problem
  • Man United just seem completely broken as a club. I'd assume Amorim will want to spend in January but there's some serious shifting out the door that will have to happen too.
  • Amorim probably said ‘I will keep up bit will want massive expenditure in summer’

Don't worry, they've got a couple of easy games up next, Liverpool away followed by Arsenal away lol
  • Realistically, it's hard to see Southampton and Leicester surviving. Southampton just seem every ordinary at both ends, while Leicester look much weaker than the team that bizarrely got relegated 2 years ago, not helped by FFP issues forcing them to sell Dewsbury-Hall.

Ipswich look to have a real chance though. They've been competitive and well organised in nearly every game, and have enough quality up front to score goals. Sometimes newly promoted teams start well, then get found out after a couple of months. Ipswich look like they're getting better as the season progresses.

Fun fact: Only six teams have never been relegated from the Premier League (since 1992).
Three of them are in the bottom half going into 2025.

Arguably he is not helping himself by playing a formation which does not suit the players he has.

Casimero and Erikesen as a 2 man midfield is quiet the vibe.
  • Not quite true, Millwall have never been relegated from the Premier League, for example.

But I get what you mean!  Weird league this year - Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth feel like they should be all top half in the Championship not the PL, and Spurs and United are bottom half.

It's like a Football Manager save when you get about 15 years in.

Yeah pretty poor team selection. Ugarte was suspended though and i assume he felt Mainoo needed a rest. They were much better when he brought Mainoo on.

I'm sure he's not going to be repeating last nights team selection anytime soon and in his mind he must already know who he needs to get rid of. He's clearly already decided the dressing room culture is bad and that Rashford is the main cause of it.

It's going to get uglier before it gets better though. Liverpool away and then Arsenal away in the FA Cup are surely going to make it 6 defeats in a row.
  • They will then only have the battle for fourth from bottom left.

So many overpaid players in the PL with appalling attitudes. Ludicrous wages paid to underserving individuals.

Nice to see Forest doing well. They may have a limited squad but they certainly work hard and are well organised.

United would be well shot of Rashford.

I think Rashford would be well shot of United tbh. He's in danger of becoming a scapegoat for their ridiculous recruitment of both managers and players over the last few years.

I've no idea if he's a disruptive influence in the dressing room or not, (I don't think I've seen it reported he's a wrong 'un?), but it's certainly not his fault they've got a squad of players nowhere near the standard required for a club like Man U.

Definitely best for all parties if he moves on asap but at £300k/week his market is very limited.

He's paid an enormous amount to be fairly mediocre and there are plenty of pundits and Utd fans questioning his attitude. He's not a kid anymore and I wonder how he will get his career back on track.

  • With the money in the PL so many clubs have quality players now which has evened out the mid table, which means if your a bit crap like Man Utd or Spurs are this year you soon find yourself in the lower reaches of the table
  • Rashford has been dog for years, there's a reason he never plays for England, he's just been hiding behind the fact that they've had even worse players than him there, like Lingard and Martial
  • It was the 4 games under Ruud Van Nistelrooy when United played well and without the pressure getting to the players. W3 and D1 and a relaxed atmosphere appeared to help.
Because of the excellent job Rubin Amorim did at Sporting (CP)Lisbon he got the United gig but when I heard journalists talking about him as if he had invented the wheel I just knew his honeymoon wouldn't last long.
Losing the legs, battling qualities and goals from Mctominay is looking a strange transfer and it was stated before the KO that without Mainoo, that midfield looked very one paced (slow)

Newcastle won in 3rd gear and even a defensive gift from Schar was missed.

Very wealthy man Jim Ratcliffe taking from the poor full time stewards to give to the underperforming Very rich footballers is a very bad look and the polar opposite of Robin hood !
  • Moyes has today ruled himself out of returning to ManU
