Forest continue their remarkable season, now just 1 point off second (although Arsenal should go above them tonight).
Their next 7 games are Everton, Wolves, Liverpool, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham, so Liverpool aside, there's no reason why they can't keep their run going.
Something is rotten in the City of Manchester at the moment!!
Both Manchester clubs having a shocking season
The City drop off is crazy, but it's also bizarre how United could spend another 200m in the summer and they've got worse. 14th place as we approach new year is incredible.
Also not sure how seemingly making Rashford the scapegoat has worked. Obviously Amorim doesn't like what he's seen but you can't tell me they're a better side without him.

Wont be surprised to see Man Utd trying to sign Victor Gyokeres come January or the summer. Be funny if he's another Championship player that isn't suited to the Premier League, and by moving to Portugal found a league that suited him in return.
But Utd really will have to limp to the summer and have another clear out, the comparison to us in some regard since losing Ferguson / Curbishley is quite remarkable
For all the remarkable football that I love seeing from Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth and dare I say it, Chelsea, the team that I find myself cheering on atm is Everton. It drives me nuts how awfully teams defend generally in The Premier League. Defenders don’t do the basics right like staying goal side of your man and keeping him in view. Everton defend properly. They look organised: each defender is watching one man and there to cover for another. They anticipate attackers’ moves off the ball and make interceptions. They know that if there’s danger, just kind rid of the bloody ball. Lastly, they have a great goalkeeper.
It drives me crazy that teams pass it to a teammate in their own penalty box. If Sean Dyche were put in charge of Man City, he’d turn them around good and proper. ’Pepball’ is thankfully dead. Come on Everton: keep showing them how it’s done. I bet now that they’ll finish top half and next season they’ll be in the top 7 or 8.

I *think* Amorim has a gentlemans agreement with Sporting that stops him going and signing Gyorkeres. Not that I think he'd especially solve their problems as the whole club seems completely dysfunctional. Another £200m+ summer awaits them if Ratcliffe has the appetite to actually invest given the amount of stories about off the field cost cutting. The entire culture of the club needs resetting but I cant help but chuckle at their predicament having grown up with their dominant era.

I can't agree with the Everton love in but I 100% do with your point about the deplorable standard of defending. This season in particular.
I don't know whether it's a overall shift to prioritising "defenders" providing width or an attacking threat, or the move to teams playing out from the back demanding centre backs to be more comfortable on the ball than ever. But the standard of basic defending seems to have nose dived over the last few years.
Jeez, Man U and Wolves had Evans and Dawson on the bench yesterday. Solid, reliable defenders in their day but they must add up to about 70 between them and that shows the derth of defensive talent out there.
So pleased Neto for Chelsea didn't get away with cheating: He commits a foul on Awobi by launching his body at him and then holds his head to try to get play stops before Fulham went on to score. I believe the Prem ref realized straight away this was blatant cheating as opposed to common shithousery.
Kyle 'who's the Daddy' Walker was bad the other week with his play acting when he hit the deck quicker that Anthony Joshua, when he smelt another player's breath.

A sentence i never thought i'd see written anywhere ever.
I said a couple of weeks ago that Brighton have been slightly disappointing this season, considering they had the massive distraction of Thursday night European football last season.
They seem to struggle against the lesser teams in the division, at home for example they've drawn against Ipswich, Wolves, Southampton and Brentford (who are terrible away), and lost to Palace.

New, young coach learning a totally new football culture. They have sensible owners who won’t have been expecting a top 8 finish this season

Finished 11th last season, then had a net spend of £150m in the summer. I'm sure they were expecting something better this season than mid table.
The mad thing is I’m not sure £150m net spend over one summer makes much of a difference given the long term benefit / profit they’ll expect from what they did spend.
Majority young players added to a very young coach, they probably didn’t expect instant success. They’ll likely make back the £150m and more as they usually do and can enjoy flirting with Europe every couple of seasons in the meantime.

They've definitely been disappointing, Mitoma hasn't been anywhere near the levels of last season, and they've suffered with injuries at various points to March, Ferguson and now Welbeck.

I don't think they will. Bloom is the kind of gambler to take a short term risk for longer term gain
Watching Spurs v Wolves. Two goals already, only 12 minutes gone. Pretty standard for a Spurs match. I find myself watching their games more and more now, they almost guarantee entertainment.
On a completely separate point - that pink Wolves third kit is absolutely rancid. 🤢

Chelsea fans definitely don't like boxing day do they 😉

Perfect manager for Milwall
