Seems weird to only bring Maddison on in the 84th minute, seems like Ange really doesn’t fancy him
    Birmingham got first refusal
  • Hate to say it but sounds like a great atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. There’s something about football in the dark that’s just magic

Well done Ipswich, thoroughly deserved 3 points.
Spurs were nothing short of disgusting.

John boy, when Spurs hit top gear they are great to watch for a neutral and I have always enjoyed their attacking intentions but what I watched in the 2nd half against Galatasaray, Spurs  kept giving the ball away and only poor finishing meant they only conceded 3.

When Spurs are good, they are very, very good but when they are bad they are horrid; sounds like the latter today.

Must be a head scratcher for you fans bereft of silverware.
Christ, good job you didnt watch the 1st half of the Galatasaray game midweek, it could have been 10
    at half time.

Its really hard to fathom.  We've played so well at times this season but we always look capable of conceding.  We have devastating spells at both ends.

Dont know what the answer is but there are many calling for Ange's head now.  Granted we've got a few injuries so we've been unable to rotate as we would have like but we should still be able to cope so its no an excuse at all.

How many more embarrassing defeats can Ange survive?!  I dont want to see him go as I enjoy the attacking football but the constant mistakes at the back are beginning to grate more than a bit.

Something has happened with Madders/Ange.  Dont know what but it just doesnt tally at the moment.  To be fair Kulusevski has been our player of the season by a mile and is playing the 10 role but Ange seems to be struggling to find the right balance for the other two midfielders.  Even Bissouma finds himself on the bench.

Ange’s football has always lacked an element of control, which in a sense is part of the appeal. I guess the key to that unpredictability is an ineffectual midfield. Funnily enough it’s a very similar problem to what Charlton have, just manifesting in a different way
  • Once again, the referee is keeping his cards in his pocket when it’s a game between two of the ‘big’ sides. ffs.

Great skill by Neto and Ben White was bedazzled as a great left cross was headed over by the arriving RB Gusto.
Chelsea are a much improved and consistent team this season with the skills of Palmer and co. Really good contest.
  • Looks offside.

    Looks offside.

Looked offside when seeing the penalty area line but I always wonder about how they freeze the ball on the foot of the passing player; on occasions it looks a fraction of a second too long !

When you watch the top Premier teams they always use the width of the pitch and that's why there is space if you can pass the ball.  The polar opposite to the style of CAFC in 24/25.
  • Arsenal don’t half love a moan

Chelsea surrounded Oliver and had a good moan that Arsenal took the free kick too quick but he had blown the whistle. Offside saved them.
The talented Palmer had 3 bad touches including the free kick into the crowd when he tried to catch out the keeper from 40 yards.
0-0 and all to play for.
  • Attrocious defending for that goal but what a pass from Odergaard

Colwill plays Arsenal on side and Martinelli scored from an acute angle.
    0-1
  • Neto makes it 1-1 with a fine left foot shot.
  • Obligatory Jackson offside moment
  • Nicolas offside Jackson offside by about 5 yards but lino raises the flag after the ball hits the net !

Losing to the stripy pricks from Selhurst was unforgettable.
    This is karma

    Trossard you doughnut!

Ends 1-1 after Trossard emulates Bonne* and misses a good chance in the last second of added time.

    * Current CAFC players are available !

At least we've just put them back in the bottom three!

I think Saliba was offside so it wouldn't have counted anyway. Would've been quite amusing to witness the meltdown from the 'PGMOL are against us' gang if they'd had a 2 minute celebration for the goal and then had it chalked off.

Incredible weekend for Liverpool though, 5 points clear of City and now 9 ahead of Arsenal. Huge 10 days for them starting at the end of this month.

    Real Madrid home
    Man City home
    Newcastle away
    Everton away

If they come through that unscathed it's going to be hard to stop them winning it.

As Trossard missed they didn't need to confirm it was offside but I think you're right. Plus I have an inherent loathing of Chelsea since their vandalism at the valley and Abramovich being Putin's man in London laundering money. 😤
Why did it take 19 years for the Government to realise this ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Back to football !

Liverpool are the form team but injuries have affected both Arsenal and Man city recently and if the same happens to Liverpool in the season then Man city will regroup and challenge.

If Arsenal are really serious about winning the title why go for Sterling who's best days are being him ?
Not good enough for City or Chelsea now but ok for Arsenal ?

  • It’s not like Liverpool aren’t affected by injuries too, Jota, Allison, Elliott and Chiesa have all been out for extended periods and would all either start or be in the squad. For all the talk of Arsenal having an injury crisis they’ve been missing Odergaard, Calafiori and Tomiyasu at most
  • If you listen to Arteta you'd actually think it was Arsenal who had City's injury problems.

"What I'm praying for is that after the international break we have the team fully physically equipped, that they are available and that they are fit, because it's been a nightmare for eight weeks."

Raya, Gabriel, Partey, Havertz, Trossard, Martinelli have played every game. Saka missed 1 game injured, Rice/Saliba also 1 game (both through suspension). White/Timber/Jesus missed 2 games.

Hardly a nightmare injury crisis is it?
  • Spurs have had just as many injury problems than Arsenal this season.  Just got to get on with it and quit the moaning.

  • City are badly missing their Ballon D'Or winner, Rodri - 52 consecutive PL games without defeat when he's started and 6 defeats in that time when he hasn't. They originally signed Phillips as cover (now trying to re-build his career at Ipswich) and then Kovacic but neither have had the same level of influence of Rodri. Add to the melting pot the absence of their most creative midfielder, KDB, and it's not difficult to recognise why they aren't firing on all cylinders. Even when they've been winning this season, they haven't looked the same invincible side as a result.
  • As we touched on the feelings towards Scousers at the weekend, it seems quite apt timing that a video starring PL ref David Coote is going viral right now...

  • His son's a former county cricketer.  I imagine he's now a former football referee.

His son isn't a former county cricketer. His father, also named David, played one County Championship match and one John Player League game.
