  • How many times will they mention that Rodri is out for the season?
  • Newcastle use the flanks against City but they can't score while their on top. Enjoyable experience watching Howe's teams.
  • Anyone but Liverpool
    This.

I couldn't care who wins the title as long as it's not the bin dipping, let's blame everyone else,  opinionated wankers.
I’d take Liverpool, or anyone else (barring Palace, obvs!) over City this season. Having the same team winning the title five seasons in a row and seven out of the last eight years is awful.

As a Charlton supporter I have little interest in the premier league.
But whenever I meet a Liverpool fan on holiday or wherever they are almost all boring ,annoying pricks.
The odd occasion I meet a man City  fan the seem to be OK.
So it's basically the Liverpool fans that I can't stand with their Scouse not English attitude.
So for that reason alone I don't wish them any success.

Man City score after defending well and then hit Newcastle with the unlikely scorer Gvardiol.
0-1 HT after Joelinton brings out a great save from Ederson.

Strange to think back how close he came to being our manager.

Gordon scores from Penalty spot 1-1
    Deserved equaliser.
  • Cole Palmer has been busy this half!!
  • Brentford would be the best team in the world if the game lasted a minute.

goals after just 22 seconds, 23 seconds and 37 seconds in their last 3 games respectively.

  • Palace still without a win after six games… lost to a previously winless Everton today
At least that's one bright spot in a shit footballing weekend
  • Lost to Everton, West Ham and Brentford and drawn with Leicester.  Decent point v Chelsea and Man Utd aside it is a really poor start to the season for the Nigel's.
  • Give poxy arsenal the title now ffs

Roy Hodgson will be waiting for another call from Steve Parish in November  ;)
  • Is there a tweet showing the sending off Arsenal got away with too? Just for consistency.

  • If you think that's a booking you're either an Arsenal fan or mental. Firstly he's not delaying a free kick as Saka is still on the floor. Secondly he's not looking to waste time as his own team are losing.

If he'd done that at 2-2 with an Arsenal player right there looking to take a quick free kick then you'd have a valid point.

    Three points:

The first couple of times Cole Palmer played for Man City I thought he was gifted and he was destined to be world class; today confirmed that view even though he could've had 6; his all round play is sublime with deft passing and his scanning vision.

Why did Brighton play such a high line, nearly on the half way line, when Chelsea are kings of the counter attack and the Chelsea forwards are quicker than the Brighton defenders ?

Why did  Chelsea play short suicidal passes from the keeper which resulted in the two Brighton goals ?

Feels like Brighton have these kind of games every season regardless of the manager where they just get ripped apart on the counter. No idea why they play such a high line with Lewis Dunk.
  • Not sure if he got the booking, but this would have been the better one to moan about... But then he's lucky the referee wasnt looking if he got away with it.

It's so inconsistent you could just name about 20 over the weekend.

If they're on tv they get booked I guess?
  • It’s actually proper weird how much Arsenal bias you have, and that’s coming from someone that don’t mind them.

Re Cole Palmer. There’s a clip going round of him on the premier league media day before the season started. The usual green screen recording celebrations etc to use throughout the year.

They ask him to count 123 on his hands to use “if you score a hat trick” he does it but then asks them “what about 4?”

  • Makes it even stranger that Southgate stuck with Foden during the Euros and not gone for Palmer earlier.
  • City agreeing to sell Palmer is up there with us selling May in terms of bad transfer decisions.

I get they couldn't guarantee him enough playing time but i don't understand why they chose to sell him instead of loaning him somewhere last season. They loaned out McAtee for 2 years and now have him back but decided to sell Palmer. It's not like they're a club that really needed the money either.

I thought selling your academy players was essentially incentivised by FFP rules, so maybe that was part of the consideration?
