EFL on SKY Sports next season; How to watch

Every single League One and League Two team will be featured live on Sky at least 20 times next season.

Matches will be broadcast live across existing Sky Sports channels or on the brand new Sky Sports+ (more on that below!)

This will effectively replace the EFL's domestic streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services.

I am a Sky subscriber, do I need to pay extra to watch my team?

No!

Customers with a full Sky Sports subscription won't need to do a thing.

Once live, Sky Sports+ will simply drop into the existing Sky experience, across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW.

I am NOT a Sky subscriber, how can I watch my team?

For instant, contract-free access to all Sky Sports channels, non-Sky subscribers can purchase a NOW Sports Day or Month Membership.

From August, this will also include every single live Sky Sports+ stream and on demand catch-up content.

Which games will be live on Sky?

Each full weekend of EFL fixtures will see 10 live matches shown - including three Championship, two League One and two League Two matches all broadcast live at 12:30pm on Saturdays.

All opening weekend, final day, and midweek fixtures in the EFL will be shown live, as will all games played on Bank Holidays including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Will fixtures keep moving if they are broadcast?

While some matches will be rescheduled for broadcast purposes, the majority of fixtures won't be moved.

How long in advance will I know about fixture changes?

All live matches selected for broadcast up to the FA Cup third Round in January 2025 will be communicated before the start of the season.

Live league matches in August and September will be released first, by early July.

Will the '3pm blackout' remain?

The blocked broadcast period - frequently referred to as 'Article 48' - between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturday afternoons, will remain, meaning that main broadcast fixtures will be scheduled for outside of this time.

How many of my team's matches will be live on Sky?

Every single League One and League Two team will be featured live on Sky at least 20 times next season.

  • Seems very clear. I'm on NOW and its £18 a month.
  • the bitches crying about Leeds being on all the time must be buzzing we'll be on 20 times next season
  • 2 league 1 games every Saturday. Based on last season we had, I believe, 32 games on Saturdays. If they manage to feature all 24 teams and equal amount, each team will play in a minimum of 5 Saturday lunchtime games, some of them 6 times. (Of course some teams will have 3 or 4 and some 7 or 8 because they have teams they always want to feature, or games that get postponed because of call ups)

It also means, I assume, that all games that happen on special days (boxing day, new years day, good Friday, Easter Monday) will all be televised
  • All opening weekend, final day, and midweek fixtures in the EFL will be shown live, as will all games played on Bank Holidays including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

I'm guessing we'll see 1230 kick offs on the opening day of the season. They have alternated the past four seasons with h/a fixtures on the opening day. If that continues we'll kick the season off with an away fixture.
  • Charlton will learn their 2024/25 Sky Bet League One schedule at 9am on Wednesday, June 26th.

The new season will begin on the weekend of August 10th, 2024, with the regular league campaign ending on May 3rd, 2025.

The 46 rounds of Sky Bet League One matches will take place across 36 weekends, six midweeks and four Bank Holidays.

  • Sorry, not understanding this at all well. Does this finally mean that for overseas viewers Charlton TV is dead in the water?.
  • Will all games be available on the Red Button ?

If you mean all our league games then no, if you mean all the games selected by sky from the allocation as per the contract, then yes

Could be some long trips up north with a 12:30 kick off, almost making it easy to stay at home and watch it, if you’ve got sky tv.

Just had notification from sky, that my bills going up £10 a month.

  • or at least 40 if its Sheff Wed. or Leeds ...

Imagine how much more they would have been able to put it up if Charlton weren't going to be on twenty times.

Really? Last time I looked at the monthly sports pass they were more than 30 quid.

  • I took up an offer from NOW TV for Sky Sports at £19.99pm. Looks like even better value than I was expecting now.

They’re time limited, but when mine ran out I was automatically offered an extension. If you’re not offered one you can ask to quit, and they then offer one, according to a friend who did it.
  • Re Now TV I looked at the website earlier and it was £14.99 for day pass, £24.99 monthly pass with a minimum 6 month contract and £34.99 for cancel any time contract.
  • This will hit local businesses for those games where Sat 3.00 pm kick offs are moved to 12.30 or Sundays and Fridays. Such a shame they have taken a lot of blows since we left the Prem.
  • 12.30pm Saturday KO's are shite...
The EFL, FA, Premier League, do not care. We are ‘legacy’ fans and easy to replace. In their opinion.
  • 12.30pm Saturday KO's are shite...
Cynic in me says they're inconveniencing clubs in the lower leagues as a play to remove the 3pm blackout
