He could say his head was turned, and then carried on turning until it had gone all the way 'round.soapboxsam said:soapy_jones said:In the annals of CAFC fuckwittery, tbis would be an achievement.
It would be funny to see George Dobson having the picture with Scarfy and saying once he knew Cafc were interested it was a no brainer 😄
He would get a decent signing on fee as well !11 -
Forgive me but where have these comments today about Dobson come from, some event at The Valley?, and who said the actual comments made?
Thanks.1 -
No mention of Dobson re-signing at all this AM. So didnt come from the event.0

Hint from Dubai Addick and on the other board.0 -
And for our next trick, sell Alfie to Huddersfield for £500k then buy him back for £800k. Easy this football lark.follett said:Other forum is saying we have made a bid for Dobson ...

I just can't believe it but if true that's an absolute disaster for the club19 -

Any other titbits @DamoNorthStand @Swisdom ?
Tried the top shelf Henry, might find something suitable there...🙄0 -
If there's a chance of bringing Dobson back at a reasonable fee we should absolutely jump at the chance. Sure it might look a bit embarrassing but nothing wrong with correcting a massive mistake.
He has been by far and away one of best players for the last few seasons, he is a leader, fans favourite and most of all is a known quantity. You know he will deliver consistent performances game after game.
We could quite easily spend the fee and wages we might spend on Dobbo on someone else who could turn out to be an absolute flop (As we have season after season). Is anyone convinced we are going to sign anyone better than Dobson this window? I'm certainly not.

I actually would like us to go with something different. Good player but think we can do better especially in the attacking sense if Coventry sits the deepest .Notts_Addick said:If there's a chance of bringing Dobson back at a reasonable fee we should absolutely jump at the chance. Much as I loved having Dobson at the club, things never really work out second time around, might be the time to cut him loose once and for all, and move on...4

Nothing agreed, let’s just say parties are talking, but there is a long long way to go on this..roseandcrown said:LargeAddick said:Forgive me but where have these comments today about Dobson come from, some event at The Valley?, and who said the actual comments made?

If we have to pay to get Dobbo back, the fee should come out of Andy Scott’s wages or better still sack him.26

I think the Dobbo rumour stems from this morning's fixtures breakfast a bit.
Someone asked if he was definitely not coming back and the question was dodged with Keir Starmer-esque evasive skill and then the subject was immediately changed and deflected. The realist in me thinks it was "oh shit, not this again" but the cynic in me says it was a pretty well orchestrated diversion to change the subject - almost as if that was the brief for Nathan & Steve Sutherland.
I heard a whisper that we were due to speak to him one last time but I am not sure if that happened. I'm told he didn't ever want to go to Hungary so it's not impossible but it is highly unlikely to come to anything. He's still technically our player for 4 more days but I'd be surprised if anything changes12 -
It'll be great seeing Dobbo stand in front of the < > stand at the < > ground wearing his brand new < > shirt...0

Yes Dobson why did he sign a contract when the club had made him offers .. why did he not wait till end of season before looking at his options he was very poorly advised and a hint of panic when he did not receive another single offer from anyone else ..Redhenry said:Only Charlton, surely somebody has to answer to the f up12 -
Strange that he would sign a ‘pre-contract’ for a team in Hungary then.Swisdom said:I think the Dobbo rumour stems from this morning's fixtures breakfast a bit.

He will soon be telling us he is the best player in the league after months of slating him.0 -
Welcome our new Midfield duo, Dobbo and Taylor9

Any truth to the rumour Dobbo coming back? Asking for a friend.3

Because he didn’t …….. source his dad who was telling everyone that in Bartrums he also told people that it was never about money just the length of contract that was on the table ….. he was offered 3 year deal with a one year option to move abroadeastterrace6168 said:

I mean this should be a good start...Ahadme - MayCoventry - Dobson - BerryEdwards - Gillesphey - Mitchell - E-Green - SmallMannion
But I can't see Dobson coming back3 -
I was hoping the Dobson debacle had been left in the past. I can understand making one last ditch offer to see if he'd change his mind but I wouldn't want to spend a significant fee on bringing him back.8
