Henners deliberately angling the phone to avoid showing pictures of the new big screen and floodlights, which are being installed on a 100ft tall statue of Nathan Jones on his knees, on top of the JS standHenry Irving said:11 July 2025

Celebrating the grass roots of football and the fountain of joy it brings to the fans with the added sprinkler motif.1

Stop taking pictures of it, you'll wear it out.9

I find it intriguing that all the photos you are posting don't show the rest of the stadium like they normally do. Wonder what improvements are being made elsewhere6

As above, come on Henry maybe a wider shot, how about the screen, intriguing shot of the floodlights by the way, pitch looks great 👍0

Well GC and Warwick said that there will be lots of improvements, there’s definitely a new big screen going inkidbrookeaddick said:I find it intriguing that all the photos you are posting don't show the rest of the stadium like they normally do. Wonder what improvements are being made elsewhere1 -

I have no doubt that when the work is done Charlton will be posting pictures of it everywhere0

Without giving anything away, are you impressed with the improvements happening to the ground? And the pitch looks decent in the photos, do you reckon it's in better condition than this stage last pre season?Henry Irving said:

Pitch looks good but check back on this thread to last summer to see how it looked then.kidbrookeaddick said:

They've made the JS stand match the Curbs and West stands, and it's two tier all round...🤔😉10 -
All this extra investment to the infrastructure, the academy, the womens’s team and of course the men’s really proves the new owners are not messing about and are not here for the short term to flip (until we get to the PL). I truly cannot wait for the first match.9

Sod the pitch, have they put a new lock on trap three of the East Stand bogs?9
-
New signage between South & West Stands says ‘bye bye Roland’ as they have purchased it back…3

Very nice have a few of their singles & 2or3 albumsHenry Irving said:

During either Pardew or curbs time there was consideration to swapping the Home and Away dug outs because the away management were always to get in the linesmans back* throughout the game.ozaddick said:
I like that the away dugout is further from the half way line, little quirks that are beneficial to us, and these things are part and parcel of a proper ground, unlike these soul less bowls they build nowadays.killerandflash said:The dugouts need complete rebuilding, but that would be a major exercise requiring existing season ticket holders to be moved, so that the dugouts are the same distance from the halfway line.
I hope they don't change the positioning.

Seems a shame to put lines on it. Even worse is putting 24 blokes with studs!!!Henry Irving said:

-New flood lights, although don’t think they’ve gone in yet
- new Digital Advertising boards - which may or may not be on the operations HQ box - around the pitch and upper tier hoardings
- brand new big screen, which looks as if it could be rectangular rather than square
- presumably some funky light show effects too if MaxMaze are involved
- solar panels on roof (and Ops HQ box possibly) at somepoint
Seems a lot is going on at The Valley. Lots of ‘licks of paint’ too9
