Got to go for Idris. Years since we’ve had an “El”, isn’t it?
Despite our recent bad run of Ipswich signings (despite me wanting all of them) El -Mizouni would be a cracking signing for next season. He has been outstanding at Orient this year.
Would be happy with Walton, although he always looks a little cumbersome. Goal keeper for me is the most important signing this summer. I honestly think I want two. If we have to keep one, I think I prefer AMB to Isted but I know I am not in the majority on that one.
If there is any chance of signing Azeez from Reading, I would be all over that too.
I really hope that Jones gets the summer he wants.
A good list @L0rd_M0ntagu3 and a lot of those players would easily make it into our team.
Unfortunately I believe a lot of those names will have championship interest. Which is where we need to be ambitious and match a championship side and show we mean business, as we did with Conor Coventry up against Sheffield Wednesday.
We should certainly be looking at the Lincoln squad if they fail to go up, as they seem to have a knack for having some decent players, and they are an impressive side. We need to show some financial muscle.

Sorenson in particular has always looked outstanding against us. Jensen their keeper and Mandroiu in midfield have looked excellent players for the level too.
I think with Lincoln, it is slightly a case that they have an outstanding manager, who won't be there too long, and their team isn't quite as good as their last month has suggested. But agree I hope we've targeted some of theirs.
How on earth Skubala didn't win March manager of the month is beyond me.
Rated Warren O’Hora as a good prospect a couple of years ago, not sure how he's done since.
Divin Mubama would be a very good signing but I think West Ham will take up the option, and he'll get a Championship move if not. I thought he'd be a good signing on loan this year but it seemed West Ham wanted to involve him more than they have.
Maybe they'll exercise the option and let him go out on loan?
I expect Christian Walton to join. Free and Jones signed him previously for Luton on loan I believe. In his post match comments yesterday NJ was seething at another Isted mistake I reckon. Keeper will be a huge priority and Walton record, being free and having been with Jones makes him a very obvious target. Hadn't thought about Dan Potts but again, him knowing NJ and his flexibility to play 2 positions - it seems a good fit and natural replacement for Thomas.
Ipswich apparently have another year option on Walton, could decide to extend that to either keep him for another year as a reliable back-up, or to try and get a fee.
Their main keeper, Hdlaky, is out of contract too so might prefer looking for one than two if Hdlaky goes.
Might all depend on whether they go up I guess.
Also wonder if he could get a move to a bottom half Championship club rather than L1,
Thought Liam Bennett looked excellent for Cambridge both games we played against them. One of the few stand out opposition players this season imo.
Bit Solly-esq in stature and in commitment; we could do with that sort of energy and determination. Something so many of our lot have been missing for years.
I guess we are already stocked at RB with Ramsey, Watson and Assimwe but at 22 Bennett looks like he has real potential.
Out of contract in the summer but I think Cambridge have a 1 yr extension. My guess is he will leave as they won't want to lose him end of next season.

Whittled your list down - I won't lie there were some players I had never heard of so have kept the ones I have and I rate.
My problem is that it is players who impress me playing against us or ones I have heard of are who I would normally pick for this exercise. This is what I have termed the ' Marcus Maddison syndrome'. In football terms he seemed to be a great signing and he was an excellent player. Obviously it didn't work out that way. Panache Camara , Scott Fraser and Freddie Ladapo are the latest examples of this.
That said, I like Lewis Bate and Joe Powell from the names quoted and would maybe re add Greg Docherty to the debate as he will probably be released by Hull. Dan Potts and Christian Walton's links to Jones make them possibles in my view.
Has anyone got a better knowledge of U21 players?
Again this isn't a guarantee. I remember being impressed by Cameron Borthwick Jackson when he was playing for Scunthorpe on loan from Manchester United . Yesterday at 27 he was warming the bench for Ross County. Likewise, I wasn't aware of Thierry Small and he is probably the best left back I have seen for us in years. Let's hope he continues to develop.
Need to sign top players in the GK, CB, CAM & CF roles.
Need to see what we need to replace Dobson too.
Coventry replaces Dobson. Currently we have two players in the side taking up the same berth. There's little to choose between them but I think Dobson edges Coventry but he's off so that's that. One alarming Stat regarding Coventry is that in 81 professional appearances he's managed 3 assists! Pretty woeful. As we've seen, he was highly effective in the big games against the Derbys and the Pompey's but when we need to be more expansive he really isn't the answer.

That’s fair.
Even with your whittled down list, it shows there are a number of good players out of contract. So even without spending transfer fees, we could build a decent squad.

There’s a lot of really good players out of contract. We could be in a position to get the best of them. Unfortunately there will still be fans that moan that we didn’t spend money…
We need to sign a goalkeeper with Championship quality.
Carl Rushworth, Brighton currently on loan at Swansea. Christian Walton, currently bench warming at Ipswich. Lukas Jensen, Lincoln City. Viktor Johansson, Rotherham. Viljami Sinisalo, Villa, currently on loan at Exeter. Nathan Baxter, Bolton W. Daniel Grimshaw, Blackpool.
I'd also go for the pick of L1 CBs.
Paudie O'Connor at Lincoln would be first choice Terence Vancooten at Stevenage is a goliath of a man.
When will Santos/Bolton be out of contract? if he's not promoted
Not on the wishlist but fairly confident we will end up with Harry Cornick from Bristol City, another in the Washington mould. Grafter but not technically great, worked with Jones a bunch before and really out of favour at Bristol City

Great singer and I thought he was very good in the film ‘Copycat’

Yep, thought he had a tough test against an in-form CBT at the Valley, and although he had a hard time, he fought the whole game and was their best attacking outlet I thought.
Similar situation at their place, difficult player to come up against in Small, but he fought him the whole game and looked really promising going forwards.
One of the standout opposition players for me as I felt he performed across two games against us. I certainly think he's worth looking at as we don't really have anyone solid at right back, and Ramsay is unproven still.
Sounds odd but Bennett looks like a Charlton and Jones type of player to me, and I mean the work horse with a sprinkle of skill type, not the shit show ponies we have signed in abundance over the years.

That's a fantastic shout. Fits the bill absolutely perfectly of the type of player I expect Jones to target. Don't think his scoring record is the greatest but will run himself into the ground.

Jones never mentioned Isted in fact he blamed the state of the pitch for the uneven bounce “ has this pitch been watered in 10 years “ was his comment when asked about their goal .. there was no blame attached to Isted

3 in 4 against us total…
