I find it very hard to read this thread as my wonderful pal Zuben has just hit the 12 years old mark….life expectancy for an English Bull Terrier is 11 to 13.
A bridge both he and I will have to cross fairly soon I guess.
I feel for you and your chum mate, those of us who haven’t shared a significant part of their life with a pet will never know the immense sadness you have at their departing.

Wish people would stop mentioning the Rainbow Bridge, people on Valley Express must be wondering why I'm sitting here blubbing.

Seems insensitive mentioning it but our little Border pulled through having her gall bladder removed today.

Only just catching up with this. So sorry for your loss Billy. It's heartbreaking to lose your boy, even though your brain tells you it's the right thing to do.

It's true that, given time, the happy memories outweigh the pain of the loss - but that doesn't mean the pain goes away. Just reading this thread, then thinking about the loss of my own dog, has broken me again.

Remembering my girl, Evie, who passed just over 3 years ago. A wonderful and much missed part of my family xx

iI was thinking of you earlier when I took our two for their morning walk and there was a beautiful rainbow across the complete sky (of course, I’d left my phone at home).
