I've not seen any comments about the penalty we should have had on the first few minutes.
Tbf, it was difficult to see from the TV angle, but with just the keeper to beat, I don't see a striker diving in that situation. Anyone at the match have a better view?
Oh, and I would criticise Jones for bringing on Lapado at all, but particularly for our top scorer. It might be harsh to say that was the reason for the equaliser, but it could be debated.
It was a pen he was rugby tackled to the ground as you say no reason for Kanu to go down as he had a tap in
Ball was flashed across the goal with a bit of pace on it... Can only presume that the Referee thought that Kanu was never getting to it, so threw himself down.
Late to the party on this thread - went to this - Jim’s bar at their ground is decent - but it’s a non league ground - pitch shit, Fleetwood style of play shit - was I expecting some sort of exhibition of the beautiful game - nah - draw fair result sadly
Shout out to @Henry Irving who I bumped into in pub post match (Strawberry something or other the pub name)
Tram back to Blackpool saw us get off at Squires Gate in biblical rain, had to get a cab to Lytham St Anne’s where we staying - curry there - back to our AirB&B - crashed out
Sunday - breakfast and Guinness in Wetherspoons at 8.00 am, then Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which is actually very good, with some superb rides
But, my word Blackpool is a hovel - just dreadful
@LouisMend - my mates and I experienced the full Avanti West Shit service coming home yesterday afternoon - not as bad as you experienced - 9 hours (incl hour stop in a pub in Preston awaiting connection) to get back home - utterly appalling, and overcrowding was shameful - I went and stood between 2 first class carriages at Preston, and in fairness the Guard told me and my 3 mates to sit in First Class when we got to Warrington - horrified looks from First Class passengers when we sat down and unloaded boxes of beer from our bags and sat there getting sloshed - we also had a huge KFC bucket, so stank the coach out with KFC
And this guy was on his stag do and forced to dress head to toe in charity shop clothes.
I saw him in the ground, and had to a double take - my mate was raging, and couldn’t believe a Palace fan was at a Charlton away match - I calmed my mate down, and floated the idea that it must be a wind up on a stag do, given proximity to Blackpool
Pleased to see I was right - but poor sod - I hope he burned it on the Sunday - personally, I simply could not have worn the hat, and would have found some sneaky way to lose it
Oh - also shout out to the Scottish lads (assume Dundee fans) stood near me on terracing - one bloke in particular, every time there was the opportunity for a Charlton player to tackle a Fleetwood player he would shout ‘break his fucking legs’ - they will all have been worse for wear by end of the day 😂

This is something that really irritates me about refs. Especially ones at our level. He must have seen their player holding Kanu's shirt and then surely that is that!

Thank the Lord we bought enough beer………
Sorry to hear about your experience on the journey home! Make sure you claim your delay repay at least to get some money back.
Fleetwood away is just one of those games you have to get over and done with. Pain in the arse to get to, awful pitch, etc.
We should have seen it out, but in the grand scheme of things it won’t matter. I thought our subs were a little too late, I wonder if Jones is really using these final fairly meaningless games to give as many minutes as possible to the players he think will form part of his plans for next season, hence the late subs.
I’d like to give some praise to Daniel Kanu. We created almost nothing for him today, but he didn’t stop chasing down every ball, giving their defence a tough time for the whole time he was on the pitch.
It's what I'm thinking too. Give Karoy as many minutes as possible to assess him and give him more experience. Rather than give loanees who will be gone in 6 weeks, more game time.

There was a Charlton fella in the Stawberry pub who we were speaking too. He moved to Scotland a year ago and brought down a couple of mates, one was a Celtic fan and another was I think a Forfar fan. There was also a Rangers flag just in front of where we were standing. Good effort from all of them.
I’ve replayed it at least ten times and I don’t even think there was any contact on May. Even if there was, the defender was fairly clearing the ball. This says everything I dislike about modern football: the slightest contact and the attacker falls down and a foul is given.
Our away fans won us that penalty.
You need to visit an opticians if you honestly didn't see their player kick (accidentally) May.

We were on the train at Apsley near Watford when the signal failure hit Wembley. Waited 75 minutes to move 200 yards back in the station so people could get off and stretch their legs and then 5 minutes later we were full steam for Euston so no great hardship for us as we had a table and just carried on playing cards but Euston was rammo when we got off as everyone was waiting for all the delayed trains.
Jones has improved things but there is still a lot of work to do.
Perhaps with an Aneke or Wickham as a "game changer" off the bench we hold on, but Fleetwood are a typical big, physical, with a few decent players league 1 side that we have to be able to beat home and away if we want to go up next year.
Deffo a penalty and should have had one earlier but we hardly worked their keeper.
Non-league stadium but neat and tidy other than the weird sight of the old stand still in place behind its replacement.
And was the pitch very short and narrow compared to the Valley or just looked it?
A good weekend away with mates but boy, Blackpool is run down.
Long been tacky and shabby but now far worse
I thought the same, I love the place for its arcades, beach, shops etc, but it looks so grim. Same as a lot of places in the UK unfortunately

BTW it was me who shouted your name as I walked past when you were in the park being interviewed for what I assume was a Fleetwood Town blogger 😃

Nice one Milord 😂
He decided to cut that bit out of the video when I watched it back though..
The vlogger was 'Cods vlogs' aka Knappers. I also got him on mine. He's a bit of a celebrity around Fleetwood, or so I jested to him 😂

I should have bombed into his video and given him the low down that your videos are so much better than any others - whatever league - that would have put the cat among the Pigeons 😂

Haha you flatter me mate.
I think he's one of the more established vloggers. I didn't even realise there's an Oscars type thing for footie vloggers 😂 he came second.
Having seen the footage of the equaliser, I'd love to hear Peter Shirtliff's reaction to our defending there, and see how apeshit Nathan Jones went onthe touchline.
Havent seen the game, but note the comments about the pitch.I would say,in the 60s 70s and 80s even, most pitches were crap, look at the Old trafford games years ago.Difference was, they were all like it so players got used to it.Today, most pitches even in league 1 are good so when you get a shit heap players will struggle.
Funny thing the Valley pitch was better back then....or maybe I have my rose tinted glasses on.
From what I can remember,The Valley pitch was usually one of the best around,we had a decent surface, when places like ,Derbys Baseball Ground,Old Trafford where diabolical, but still at the back end of the season, even our pitch was a mud heap. Often wonder how good Besty and his mates would have been on todays bowling greens.
