Crispywood said:Biggest concern with Aneke extension is he probably wouldn’t accept a wage decrease and a pay as u play contract but also means we have to have an additional striker on the books and not sure that striker would be happy being out of the squad every week knowing there basically just a rebound from Aneke until he gets injured. Personally think it’s better for a complete reset from the last few years worked well with Dobson and May going even if it didnt look right them leaving at the time0

Would've thought for the contracted players, their money gets automatically bumped up with promotion through their existing contracts, so surely it follows that Small will now get a much improved offer?
If he still thinks he can go to a "better" club, I think he's mistaken. He mightve had a point back in October / November, buy not now we're Championship. I'd say we're very much his level. Same goes for Ramsey imo2 -

As Speculation is what football and life appears to be about unfortunately I think Thierry will leave.
Just a gut feeling after Small was taken off in both the semi final and final when he still had a lot more to give.
Just my opinion but if that was Small against a tiring defense in the position that Mbick was in he would have gone outside or inside and on the big stage would have delivered.
When I watched both the semi final and final back I felt frustrated for Thierry despite being ecstatic we got the results.
I believe for his career's sake the popular Thierry Small will move on and he will be played more on the left and will be on the field at the business end of games. The option of being on the right is fine as he can go inside or outside.
The Edwards and TC on the left and Ramsey and Small on the right worked well and turned cafc season around with the rocks Lloyd and Macca in the middle of the defence with Coventry in front of them.
I would love Small to stay but I can see him turning up at Leicester, Saints or Ipswich and being used more as an attacking threat with less defensive responsibility.

I also spoke to Thierry after the game and he told me 'we are working on it' so another version,I now think its whether Nathan thinks that now we are in Championship we can do better for the money it will cost to keep him and if we can get someone in who he thinks will give more consistency and options to the team5

Give Small a new deal and a weekly bonus every time he tries to cross with his right foot.3

LWB is definitely a strong possibility but if he's at any of the 3 Premier relegated clubs who I personally feel will be in and around the top 6, Small will spend more time in the opponents half as he can go past people with ease.*
I appreciate Championship full backs are a level above League 1.
*With the mandatory running the ball out of play once during the game !1 -
Might have already been mentioned, but do we get a development fee if he moves on?0

I also spoke to him after the game. I asked him if he was staying, and he whispered: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."52

Feeling very left out here, I must be the only person at Wembley, who didn’t speak to Thierry, after the match!26

When I saw Thierry Small after the game and asked about the 25/26 season 🤔
He replied:
"The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese."

I asked Thierry too and he said “Who are you?!! What do you want?! Get out of my bedroom! I’m calling the police . Arrrgggh!”His response could be interpreted in a couple of ways. But I think he meant he’s staying.13

If he'd signed that'd put a pen emoji or something equally on the nose.2 -

Am I the only one who personally thinks Nathan Jones doesn’t want Small. Look back to the start of the season he was always meant to be a backup to Edwards only really got a chance when Ramsay and Watson both got injured at the same time, even then Zach, REG and TC were played there before the infamous Northampton game where small started at RWB. At 19 obviously would be stupid to not offer him a contract because of his massive resale potential and what he can become but feels very much like a Dobson situation offer him a salary and role that values him as a squad player and if he signs it great but if he moves on we have someone to come in who Jones would prefer5
