    Love a bit of bubble tea, even if ruinously expensive. More drinks should be choking hazards
  • The other day I was watching TV and the PGTips ad came on with that bloke out of Topboy.
    Perfectly adequate ad, nothing too special about it, but it struck me that he talks about having a lovely brew while we see a teapot being readied, then the whole process of actually making the tea is skipped and it goes straight to him slurping his lovely cuppa and going “ooh” and “ahh” and all that.

    Are they too terrified to show the order of pouring tea and milk incase they’ll offend someone? Will people actually get so offended? Seems like the whole cream tea argument where people die on the hill of either jam then cream or cream then jam. 😂

    Don’t know why but it made me chuckle. 🫖☕️😋

  • I put the milk in first and if it’s come from the fridge I place the cup in the microwave for ten seconds to bring the milk to room temperature.
    I also heat the pot first with very hot water.
  • I'm a milk in first guy, kettle with a water filter is deployed as Kents water is mostly chalk, if making in the cup 1 bag of Yorkshire Gold or Tetley boiled water poured on top of the bag, leave it for about a minute to get a nice light golden colour,  no squeezing of any bags, nothing good comes from that and no sugar, the moment sugar goes in a brew that steals all the flavour from the tea and I can only taste sugar. A girl who makes an amazing brew at one of our contractors says "good tea must be the colour of He-Man" and she would be right. 

    I love a decent green tea, earl grey or lady grey too. The best flavoured green tea (of which I'm not a massive fan) I can't seem to find anymore was a Roobios with peach and cherry that Lidl sold. Beautiful.

    This makes the best brew of all the teas I've tried, bugger to get around here, so every time I go west I buy loads. Down to my last box. I used to like Typhoo as well but haven't bought any after they went bust, but I see that you can now get it again so will give it a fresh go, but I bet its not how I remember.

  • There was a lad a few years older than me in my secondary school who answered a newspaper avert for a tea boy required. Turned out it was working a tea company and he has made a career out of it. Been all around the world and made his own bran, called  London Cuppa.




    Still see him occasionally at away games.
  • Apparently it takes about three days to ‘adjust’ to a different tea brand.
    Sainsbury's Gold Label tea bags are easily my favourite.
    In the cold weather warming the mugs up in the microwave is a good idea, but the notion of milk in first is not for me. It sounds like the milky not hot water with a tea bag floating in it you get at a crap greasy spoon
  • Ringtons breakfast blend, milk in first, (lots of) oat milk (sorry, but am dairy free)...let it steep for about 5 mins (allows it to cool down, gives it a great, 'thick', consistency)...lovely.. Also, actually quite like the Taylors 'malted biscuit' teabags...
