Been watching the aftermath at the Gabba rather than this, lol. What a character Shamar Joseph is
It's a fantastic result for cricket not just the West Indies and the advent of Shamar and two or three other youngsters will, hopefully, encourage others to pursue the sport professionally
  • Anyone still for dropping Pope.

If I were Pope I would have told Stokes where to go when asked to field at short leg/silly point!
    I know what you mean.
But Pope does the job so well.
It's a specialist position and he reminds me a bit of Bell.
Indeed and my comment was a bit tongue in cheek. In the old days there was a hierarchy but that isn't really the case now and it's not as if it would be sensible to ask Rehan or Hartley to do it. I'm just glad that Pope has come back to strong. The first innings was a symptom of someone who hasn't held a bat in the middle for so long and so desperate to impress - frenetic at times as has Root been on occasions too. Class batsmen allowing themselves to try and be something they aren't.

Hartley has Sharma lbw but he’s sent it to review… he’s gone!

    63-3

    Sharma 39 (58) lbw b Hartley
  • I wonder which part of the wicket that Sharma didn't think the ball was hitting? Three for Hartley and a reward for Stokes believing in him though one can't help thinking that he wouldn't have bowled quite so many overs but for the injury to Leach. Turned up at the match a boy and will end it a man!
  • Axar in at 5
  • Hartley with his 3rd wicket.
From having your 1st ball in test cricket hit for 6 to...

    Axar in at 5
Up the order from 9 to 5 is quite the leap. Indian coaching staff trying to break the chain of right hander after right hander coming in.
  • Root comes on to replace Hartley and attack the left handed batter
  • 4th Wicket for Hartley in the 1st over after tea at his wicket taking end. Churlish to question Ben Stokes switching him earlier but...

  • This is an absolutely phenomenal effort

Root with the 5th wicket but India can bat deep but 10+11 have low averages.
Impressed With KP and Morgan on the mic and the analysis from Ben Duckett after some thought he was crazy a couple of days ago.
  • That was a brilliant run out by Stokes.
  • Am I awake? This is such an incredible effort
  • 122-7

    Jadejas run out
    straight red in test cricket
but look at the angle he run at he turned it in to 24 yards rather than 22
    brain dead these cnuts are
professional top of the game ffs
  • Not looked like taking a wicket since I switched on !

This is the vital last chance partnership for India.
    10+11 are rabbits.
  • They could have done with Axar coming in No9 now!

Let's not also forget that Ashwin was run out in the first innings following that joke of a mix up with Jadeja

  • We're leaking a few too many runs here. Need to build some pressure and not offer them a four ball every over.
  • 5 for Hartley. Well bowled son!
  • So, the biq question is - will they play on?
  • I reckon yes
  • I reckon yes
I hope so - I don't particularly want to have to set the clock for 3.30am!
  • One more to get now.
  • 9 down.
    Get in

Just as India were getting the momentum with the 50 partnership.
    Extra time coming.
  • Hartley gone from being smashed for a 6 first ball to 6 wickets!
