The Pep wannabes can breathe a sigh of relief

Many a Charlton fan punching the air with a silent "Told you so" with that goal
Pep wannabes? This is nowhere near good enough. It’s fair to point out our manager is stubbornly sticking with some of his choices that haven’t been working over the last few months.
Exactly.  This is an embarrassment.  Total shitshow
  • No live interview with Apples tonight, being recorded for later transmission, read into that what you like, but don't sound good for him...we shall see

Hardly a ringing endorsement of the management team their second appointment getting binned less than a year taking over.

  • Not against changing the manager at all but what’s the point anymore it’s the same old cycle. No one better is going to come in. This board isn’t going to properly invest in players either. Could usually rely on loans or youngsters bailing us out but that’s becoming less and less effective each season.

Weakest league one in a decade and we’ve not even tried to take the opportunity to get out of it. We’re weak all over the pitch with no squad depth. Must be the worst fullbacks we’ve ever had on the same team

  • Decent analysis from Brown there on that first goal TBF.

You can't keep blaming individuals. A good manager helps players make better decisions consistently through coaching and knowing their jobs etc.
  • Bet Curbs wished he’d stayed in Mexico a bit longer, and watched the match on a stream.
    Sorted...
  • Surely good leadership is admitting your mistakes and that means sacking Appleton
  • Appleton has to go for being himself and Scott has to go for appointing him after apparently considerable due diligence
  • This fucking manger is a true clown will be gone soon and most of these shit player’s

  • Not sure you can put any blame on Edun on that goal. It's come down the centre. Hector and Jones absolutely asleep.

I certainly wouldn't chance him with a transfer budget.  An uninspiring appointment who stands there like he's scouting a sunday league game.
  • Edun splitting the space for the 2nd goal because BT couldn't be fucked to mark anyone.

    Jones
    Hector
    Watson

All completely unaware that anything was happening.

Similarities to Fraeye and the Huddersfield 5-0
  • 2nd highest wage budget in the league btw.
  • Half way through the season and we've just won seven games. Pathetic. The worst in our history. They should hang their heads in shame.
Only 7, jeez awful when you look at it like that. Apples has to go no point keeping him, he's useless

Of course it isnt... But have been pretty tired with the match thread tonight with so many using the power of Hindsight to say what the right set of tactics should be.

So many come out with what Appleton should do, but dont stop and think for one moment that their tactical genius could result in an even worst outcome
You mean we could actually play a lot worse…wow…!!!

    It isn't hindsight
I've read the same comments for 4 games minimum now in a row
Don't play May at right wing
    Don't play Fraser
Don't play Campbell in the "10"
We can't keep a clean sheet
    We have no leaders
    Appleton isn't changing things
    We've lost again

    It isn't hindisght
It's history repeating itself over and over and over again

Curbs and Brownie repeating it too

    Are they not qualified either?

They are saying what has been said on here throughout the night.

    We can't all be wrong
    And Appleton right
    Sorry.
Of course its hindsight - Fair enough if Curbs and Brownie are saying that we shouldn't be playing X in one position, and Y in another position.

But what's to say we'd have won tonight with the players in the "right" system? - Can you guarantee me 100% a way we'd have won tonight, absolutely confident in the knowledge it would have happened?

Because unless you've got a f**king time machine, there is zero way anyone can go into a game with that... therefore its still a case of hindsight

    really?
  • Appleton is a slightly slimmer Russell Slade. That's the market we are in now. 20th or better will be success the way things are this season.

Not sure why Edun was getting dug out in the match thread. Not our worst player today.
I thought he was really poor tbh.
  • This is 100% Appletons fault, he picks the team, formation, and tactics!

It is obvious he has no coaching ability, so please F**k Off!
  • What a surprise. No interview with Appleton on charlton TV.
Hopefully Tel has got apples in a headlock

well he doesn't choose who to spend on, can't see why a player would want to play for him though
  • How are we still 12th?
