Il say it again, was one of the first to be served on Saturday around 12.30 and the food was incredibly dry already and very small portions for the £12 charge. The really should just let Chicken George take over the catering for the non vip outlets.
I guess the issue is that Gather & Gather have contracts for the bars and the shop too (I believe) so we can't just take out one element of the contract. Also, not to turn into Seth here but as a vegetarian I wouldn't even check to see if Chicken George had a vegetarian option due to the name and a lack of faith about different oil/grills etc. That said, I don't buy food at The Valley anyway because it always looks disgusting!
Are you sure it is wise to mention on Charlton Life that you’re a vegetarian? I do agree that what is described as ‘food’ served at all levels at the Valley from stalls and vans to the poshest bit of the rich people’s lounges looks disgusting, and in my limited experience is either not there, or not properly cooked, or way overpriced. OK bring on the piss taking/hatred.

The shop is now run by the club but it was never run by Gather & Gather. Castore ran it previously.
I rarely, if every buy food at the Valley but agree that if I was a vegetarian I would be wary of promises about different grills and oils.
Sent my daughter and her friend to get something to eat in the fans bar Saturday and they came back and said they couldn’t get anything because the WiFi was down so couldn’t accept cards, sent her back with cash, came back 2 minutes later to say they don’t accept cash.

Really helpful!
Think it must have been Charity Day in there !
Mr F had the same experience soon after opening - was served his chips & his DIY cuppa , albeit with no cups in sight - and then told "pay later" !
In addition, our Coventry friend who was one of the first up at the bar, asked for 2 bottles of beer & 2 glasses as usual. Both pint glasses were clearly dirty which he told the young server. Then was offered 2 more with the words " This is the best I can do at the moment" !

What a way to run a business !
Hardly the young servers fault though, they literally are doing everything they can.
I was also asked to 'pay later' which I obviously did.

I think you miss the point I was making, shine.
I don't blame the young servers but those who "train" them/show them the ropes who presumably work directly for G & G.
Where was the Supervisor or Manager when the doors opened at 12.05 last Saturday ?

Exactly, a team of staff reflect the training and support they get from their managers/supervisors, they should set the culture, standards and attitude required. G&G seem to be an absolutely unprofessional shambles.

Hi Mike - it’s no different to any other flavoured cider that’s on the market.
You’d also be quite surprised how many people enjoy our product at football - I invite you to try 😃

Have you not been in one of those micropubs where they've got the box ciders? All the rage these days - raspberry ripple cider, butterscotch... Not my cup of tea but know a few people who go mad for them.
I hope they never actually improve the service in Crossbars (does anyone actually call it the “Fans Bar”?). I think the utter chaos is part of the charm.

Yes, there's an element of crossbars roulette. Will I be given the right drink? Will I be over charged, or might I get this round for free? Will my wine come in a pint glass?

Yep all of those things, 9 times out of 10 your Crossbars experience is way more exciting and unpredictable than the football.

Maybe the shadow supporters forum or whatever it’s called could get the name changed back? Bloody silly idea changing it in the first place.
