Anyone know if I can take food in there from the wing stall ?
That's a no, saw someone get turned away.
  • Anyone know why, 7 weeks into the season the meantime bar in the Fanzone is still “coming soon”?

Anyone know why they claim Meantime is still “brewed 1 mile from the Valley” - isn’t it brewed in bloody Brentford now?

    And Bolton
  • Fair enough, was closed yesterday with “coming soon” signs stuck to it.
  • It's most likely to do with the planning application for the fan's zone and the resident's objections, mainly about the bar/alcohol and people potentially drinking close to the bottom of their back gardens for up to 12 hours (was it?) per day.
  • The kids behind us had far more kicks today than A Campbell & Docherty.

Makes sense. Although, you could still just buy drinks from Bartrams and take them outside.

  • Not sure why the Meantime IPA is £6.40 a pint.  Seems very expensive - even against London prices.  Premier league prices were published recently.  Even Manchester United price only £3.60 a pint!  We are dearer than most!

a bottle of Carling outside of London will cost more than a pint of IPA. £6ish is pretty standard in London for an IPA, there’s even a pub out here in the fens that charges that much. Beer is just expensive now

    They didn't say which valley.
Brent River Valley is close by

  • Does this mean that the 'Fans Bar' will be out of use for people not wishing to attend this event?

Id refuse to drink an IPA if it had been within 5 feet of ANY carling

Carling is awful, I agree with you.
  • I have been told this - The Q & A is between 12 & 1. The Fans Bar is fully open from 1pm

£15 for an hour, ffs, that is going to be popular.

I thought they both lived in South Africa?

£15 a hour is quite cheap to get them over here!

Would have been useful if this info had been included in the email !
  • Went into batrams Saturday and the second time in years. I was only going as I was meeting the legendary QA for a few hand shake beers.

Service slow and staff with attitudes cos you want a beer within 10 mins of waiting.
  • Legendary QA?  :D

    Legendary QA?  :D
Indeed mate... The legend himself naturally we put the world to right and ticked boxed everything we warned everyone about before the nation did a massive self harm almost 3 months ago....and pissed ourself laughing at them.

Sausages anyone. Maybe the fans bar could sell them and a certain person trade mark them... Needs a freebie.

So you got locked in Bartrams?

Food included lol I dread to think what will be knocked up, burger and chips at The Fans Bar usually sets you back a good £10 or so.
  • Il say it again, was one of the first to be served on Saturday around 12.30 and the food was incredibly dry already and very small portions for the £12 charge. The really should just let Chicken George take over the catering for the non vip outlets.

I guess the issue is that Gather & Gather have contracts for the bars and the shop too (I believe) so we can't just take out one element of the contract. Also, not to turn into Seth here but as a vegetarian I wouldn't even check to see if Chicken George had a vegetarian option due to the name and a lack of faith about different oil/grills etc. That said, I don't buy food at The Valley anyway because it always looks disgusting!
